    MLS Discussion Thread

The end of the Seattle-Dallas match tonight featured some real interesting refereeing. By interesting I mean pathetic. And it caused a minor coming together of players and staff.

A 10-second check of VAR would have revealed what Ruidiaz did. First time I’ve ever seen someone reverse headbutt someone then fall to the ground to get the guy he headbutted sent off.

Was a pretty good game with a dumb ending.

Saw a more extended replay that shows the Dallas player swiping at Ruidiaz’s hair and then him making it look like he got struck in the face. So that’s what the ref saw. Still not sure why he didn’t go to VAR.

I was flipping through channels and saw that it was 4 mins into stoppage time so didn't think it was worth staying to watch the end since I hadn't seen any of the rest of the game. Oops!

That was an amazing sequence by Rooney!

Zlatan's debut was incredible, but that sequence by Rooney is memory #1 in MLS this season. I just keep seeing it pop up, and I just keep rewatching it. Unreal!

I've probably watched the Rooney replay 20 times already. And oh yeah, he scored two more last night.

Sounds like the Columbus-to-Austin situation is almost a done deal.

I live on the other side of the country. But I never like seeing teams move like this. Probably because I'm still jaded about the Sonics.

I was there for the 5-nil against Galaxy that Zlatan didn't attend because he was at an Ed Sheeran concert in LA.

Yeah, my family attends 1 Sounders game a year, and we were happy for the 5-0 win, but my wife was quite disappointed that Zlatan wasn't there as that was part of the reason we chose this game.

Wasn't exactly sure where to put this, but Clint Dempsey announced his retirement, effective immediately.

I don't think we're hosting MLS Cup this year!

Last night might have been the nadir of the entire season. Losing 3-0 to an expansion side before we showed any fight in a must-win game. I was there to take in the 4-2 loss. Some people in the stands left after 56 minutes when LA got their third goal. Hard to believe we've fallen so far after setting a points record last season.

Edit: I guess if Columbus is moving to Austin, the worst forced rivalry in sports, the Trillium Cup between TFC and Columbus, is no more.

The Dempsey ceremony was touching. He didn't speak, didn't really have to. The match itself was amazing, with the Sounders getting the result (and an MLS record 8th consecutive win) against a very good SKC side that went ahead two minutes in.

On the other side of the coin, what in the world is up with the Galaxy these days?!? That defense couldn't have beaten a USL side last night, just a bunch of dudes standing around looking sullen and pointing at one another. No way Zlatan puts up with this clown act for another season.

                                Welcome to Inter Miami.

If a team was to take on Inter, I think Miami is certainly one of the better cities to do so. I also dig the crest.
