Poch should've swapped Sissoko and Eriksen around when things became very apparent already after ~20 minutes. Sissoko on the right hand side, Dele in the middle and Son on the left. That would've most likely have been a much different match.

Sissoko and Wanyama together couldn't find a forward pass quickly, which is the only way to break down a Benitez-style bus parking.

I was hoping he would have moved Eriksen to the middle and brought in Lamela or Moura for Dele.

I hope Poch doesn't do something dumb and play all the starters again next week trying to finish 3rd. Give them an extra week off before the WC.

If he's not going for 3rd, then he's not the right manager.

Yeah, giving players a rest for the World Cup should be none of his concern honestly.

I disagree when it's a situation like this. 3rd or 4th do not matter with the new CL rules. Kane has had a bad ankle for a few weeks and Son, Eriksen, Jan and Dele hardly miss a match.

The WC is HUGE to the players and Poch is the type of guy who would want them to do well there. Giving them an extra week off during a match that doesn't matter would be something I can see him doing.

Also playing the young guys in a PL match will help for the future.

31 days of rest before the opening day of the WC is more than enough to regain some strength.

Rafa complaining like always after the loss. Never change.

Interesting to see Poch said Sissoko was the best player on the pitch tonight.

                    Re: Official Spurs Thread

He's trying to offload him, so speaking positively about his performances is a strategic move. Sissoko wasn't hopeless but he was far from good on the ball. Eriksen and Trippier were by far our best players.

Best signing of the off season for us, Poch and his staff extend for 5 more years.

Presumably that means that Levy is giving Poch all he wants this summer to bring in some reinforcements.

Now that Fulham is coming back up, I wonder if they'll want to keep Sessegnon, he's been pretty heavily linked to Spurs, from what I've seen.

Brushing Newcastle away on a mediocre day was nice enough. Good to see Dele Alli's form pointing in the right direction.

The team didn't look sharp which is understandable considering it is the first match and most of the starters didn't start practicing until Monday but the 3 points is all that matters this early.

Hopefully Toby can get his act together and connect with Poch again. The back 3 of Toby, Sanchez and Jan is the best in the league and makes us a completely different side.

Yes he will be but this is a great chance for Moura to make an impact. Since being bought in January he hasn't had many chances to prove himself but looked great this preseason and now has a big chance to earn a spot.
