Re: Official Spurs Thread
There was a good article on Football.London today about how things look worse than they are. Yes, we all get upset and react after a loss like yesterday but when you look at it, Spurs are in a great position compared to recent starts.
2nd most points in the league at this stage of the season under Poch and that includes playing 3 very good sides.
Players are still recovering from the WC.
More attacking options than ever with Lucas and Lamela added to the squad.

Re: Official Spurs Thread
I'm not really worried about Spurs. I worried about myself though... I think I hit a brick wall. I think I have panic attacks... I can't even get out of bed and get to work without getting severe anxiety (or so I believe it is) and I don't understand why the **** it happens.
Not really looking for a bunch of support or anything but it's good just to say it to complete strangers because there's no way in hell I'm admitting this to anyone I know.Last edited by ZeroTheHero; 09-20-2018, 05:22 PM.Comment

Re: Official Spurs Thread
You really should seek help from someone. It happens to a lot of people and it's nothing to be ashamed of admitting or asking for help with. Good luck and if you need to vent about anything, these boards are great for it.I'm not really worried about Spurs. I worried about myself though... I think I hit a brick wall. I’ll just say this. If you have chest pains you go to the doctor. If you have the flu you go to the doctor. If you break a bone you go to the doctor. Your brain is a part of your body too. Seeking help to heal it is not a sign of weakness.Comment

Re: Official Spurs Thread
Heart rate is off the charts when it happens bit it doesn't hurt... I get tinitus and tunnel vision and can't think a rational thought other than retreating back to the bedroom, shut off the lights and stay in bed until I fall asleep exhausted.
I've never had mental problems of any kind and I'm used to work under a lot of pressure (and stress) without really "feeling the pressure". I think that's changed somehow and I don't get why... and when I try to collect myself it's like when you step on the pedal in your car and the engine dies... I just can't, I'm empty. EDIT: In other words, I've figured out that the trigger is work connected... I have called in sick a few days, which helps. So I guess the doctor is the next step to get officially sick leave (or whatever you call it).
I'm not about to kill myself or anything, I just need some time to sort this out myself... in my head, I guess.
PS. Probably some karma as I've smirked secretly when I've heard similar stories before and thought "you're just lazy".Last edited by ZeroTheHero; 09-21-2018, 09:05 AM.Comment

Re: Official Spurs Thread
Well... I don't really know what to make of that Brighton-match. We won while playing at 70% and we could've easily lost some points here. It should be worrying that the defense is struggling more than usual, that weaker teams seems to be able to lay siege on us like that for periods of 15 minutes.
Somehow I still feel confident that we're well en route to top 4.Comment

Lamela is saving our butts this year. He needs to stay as a sub but start coming in earlier than 70 minute mark. [emoji107] idea why but he's not nearly as good when he starts. The energy he adds in the counter attack is fantastic.
I'm getting concerned with Eriksen. He hasn't looked himself all season.
Kane looked more like his usual self towards the end when he was firing the quick shots like he does. Hopefully that's a sign of good things to come.
The defense I'm not as concerned with yet. A lot of set piece goals we have been allowing. Lloris would have stopped by either catching or punching the cross away.

Re: Official Spurs Thread
The panic attacks are gone, by the way. I'm physically exhausted though, I have lots of things to do but I manage to do 5% of what I usually manage. If it doesn't change in a week or so, I'll see a doctor.Comment

Crap... I hate when we play West Ham. No matter what form they're in or league position they're in, they always give us trouble.Comment

Re: Official Spurs Thread
I really liked how some youngsters looked today. Walker-Peters is still showing promise as did Skipp. Ndombele looked really good coming on, assist with his first touch.
The Kane goal at the end was incredible how quickly he got the shot off. Only preseason but an exciting win like this really gets you excited for the season to start.
I think Spurs are 3rd favorites for sure (behind City and LFC) but I still have hope going into the year that we can surprise people.Current careers:

Re: Official Spurs Thread
Juan Foyth is the one I think competes with KWP if a replacement isn't bought. He played against City at RB last season and held his own (nobody looks good against Sterling but Foyth kept up.)
Foyth also played their for Argentina four games in Copa and it sounds like the Argentina staff was impressed with him.Current careers:

Re: Official Spurs Thread
No idea what Poch has planned. Aurier is not as bad as people like to say, his defending was as good as Trippier's last season but his crossing is poor. The problem is Aurier is still injured and is injured often.

Re: Official Spurs Thread
I don't think Spurs could get much worse then what we had last year. Trippier single handedly gave away at least 4 goals that cost games by being caught out and leaving Lloris one on one. Not to mention the own goal he had that was just embarrassing.Current careers:
