Neville and Carragher are fantastic, I could listen to them talk about soccer for hours.

I recommend all football fans watch Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher analyse a match, they're the best IMO.
The break down they did of Lovren and Liverpool's defense was very educational. Carragher's analyse on what Rodger's wants to do and style of play is very telling. IMO Liverpool need a defensive coach.

^ It should be Carragher. He is still p*ssed off he wasn't offered the position when he retired.

I find it funny how everyone's calling Lovren a bum and a terrible player this season.

He's been awful his entire career, both in club football and for our national team. His only strength is his jumping, and even that's not that good. Last season he scored a few important goals which masked all the mistakes he made in the back line. He's been mediocre at Dinamo, god afwul at Lyon, bad at Soton and now he's abysmal at Liverpool.

As someone who has to watch him in the first 11 of the national side every game, I hate sim SO MUCH.

I had him on my fantasy squad last year and thought he was good based on the points he was picking up for my team. Which is why I'm so shocked now because of all the Lovren hate I've been reading this whole season. Goes to show you still need to watch the matches!

It seemed like he should have saved just about everyone besides the one great play he made on the Balotelli shot that hit the crossbar.

Soton played very good defense last season and for some reason everybody picked Lovren as the reason why.

Fonte was and still is the star of their defensive show. Having Fonte next to him and Schneiderlin/Wanyama in front of him made him look way better than he actually is.

It's sad too, Fonte is a fantastic CB and will almost certainly never get credit for it.

That's what great goalkeepers are supposed to do. It doesn't always have to be diving for a shot with outstretched arms.

Going by your logic, Sterling never should've scored on his 1v1.

Agreed. My point was mostly about how mediocre the finishing was.

                      Huh?

The shots were poor and straight at the middle for the most part. De Gea didn't have to do much that game outside of make saves every PL keeper should make.

It's not taking a shot at him, more like taking a shot at Liverpool. The finishing was poor, it wasn't much a credit to De Gea as it was a discredit to Liverpool's finishing ability. If you want to pretend it was superior positioning or jedi mind tricks by David, then by all means, dream away.

It will be a good time for Riviere to finally earn his corn.

Well I've just left the ground now, long train ride back up to Newcastle. We are getting ****ed on Sunday in the derby at this rate.

I swear we are Newcastle's cup final.

Beats Chelsea then ships 8 goals in their next 2 games

Jedi Mind Tricks? Maybe next year. Superior positioning? Yes. That's what great keepers are SUPPOSED to do. Something you guys clearly don't have, along with the assortment of other things other Pool fans shout on about.

Liverpool had poor finishing, yes. De Gea also had a fundamentally good match. A lesser keeper probably would've allowed a goal with the exact same shots Liverpool took in that match.
