Eh, I just think it's awesome that a goal like that can have a huge effect on a match and a season. Flukey, lucky, whatever. You can minimize events like that in other sports and get away with it, in the context of advanced stats, but football can't quite be nailed down like that.

I mean, football is one of the most advanced stats friendly sports out there, I don't really understand your hatred for it either. Either way, advanced stats act as predictors in every sport they're used, but I don't think you'll hear any stat nut claim they are the be-all, end-all, just a useful tool for maximizing your chances of winning games. Humans aren't robots, but they do follow patterns frequently.

Well, I would still love to see some stats on the accuracy of SPI predictions from FiveThirtyEight, but I suspect they don't keep track of them.

Don't they run 1 million simulations with SPI? I remember reading their methodology a little while back so I might be wrong. If true did you want a single permutation, because I'm not sure the system is meant to work like that. At its most accurate it would say we have this % of a chance of this outcome.

Lukaku will not face punishment for kicking the Brighton player.

I, for one, am shocked this has happened.

2 world class goals by Vardy and Mahrez.

Almost enough to bring fearwhatnow back from the afterlife.

Are Wes Morgan and Robert Huth still world class defenders?

I'm already annoyed at the excuses the media will drag out for Spurs.

Honestly though, Vardy is such a big game player. I'm legitimately not sure if there is another player that scores so regularly vs the big teams.

I feel like no one is in a rush to defend Spurs. Ever. I'm pretty sure if Man U finish 2nd they will be praised 1,000% more than Tottenham were last season.

True for last season but not this season, not with the Pep vs Jose narrative they've created.

Anything less than the title for United, even 2nd place, and the media will spend the entire summer talking about it.

Gotta complain, again. Can't watch Liverpool, Arsenal, or Chelsea, today because of that stupid NBC Gold. So sick of that garbage! Hate having to rely on streams.

It sucks BUT we had it too good for a long time. I can’t think of any American leagues that offered that kind of free service for so long.

I think I saw they were running a 20% off special for a little while.

I ponied up because I’m lazy and my job’s firewall is crazy secure.
