Re: The 2017-2018 EPL Discussion Thread
Looks like negotiations between Mike Ashley and PCP Partners (why would you name your investment group PCP, lol) to purchase Newcastle Utd have broken down.
Firing Mark Hughes to hire Paul Lambert seems pretty pointless. Though I do understand he wasn't exactly their first choice.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 01-16-2018, 02:58 PM.Comment

Down to 9 men and through on penalties against the mighty Norwich City, a true fairy tale story.
Magic of the FA Cup indeed boys.Comment

No wonder Chelsea players kept trying to con the ref into giving them a penalty. They seem to be pretty good at them.Comment

It was put so well on Guardian Football Extra this week. It seems you could benefit from having a striker who is fine with not starting, great at coming off the bench and changing the game, and possibly even has homegrown status. It's such a specific thing, which is why apparently the only name to come out of that search is Crouch.Comment

Terrible double leg break on McCarthy in the Everton/West Brom game.
Not watching the replay but you gotta feel bad for Rondon a bit as well. Had no idea McCarthy was coming behind him when he kicked, was in tears with players and Pardew all consoling him.
Pretty gut-wrenching stuff all around.Comment

I, for one, am shocked Newcastle wasn’t able to get a result at the Etihad.Comment

I’ve watched Sane’s run leading to Aguero’s third goal like 20 times. He had an unreal match.Comment

If there's a team more confounding than Liverpool than I don't know who it is.
I hate to harp on this but there's now only six points separating 10th place from 20th place.Comment

End Manchester City’s unbeaten run one week, go down against 20th-placed Swansea the next.
So Liverpool.'Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that.'-Bill ShanklyComment
