It's only normal that he'd need more time than Mourinho, Ancelotti, or Conte to win despite the squad he's given due to his inexperience. If it were a manager of their experience and they were given the current squad, a serious title challenge would be expected, I'm guessing.
Will he get a few years as long as he keeps them in the Champions League? Will that be enough? I'd assume they know that it could could take this season and the next without a trophy of any kind—would they wait that long given the current investment?
Personally, I'd miss seeing his utter annoyance on the touchline. Today you had the most consistently annoyed looking manager, Lampard, and the most consistently bored manager, Dean Smith.Comment

Bale out for a few weeks with a calf injury—shocking.
Unrelated, but I'm trying to enjoy any games we get in the next few days as it seems inevitable the UK might suspend games again as things are very much not under control at the moment.Comment

Hector Bellerin marking Dan Burn from corners. Strange tactic there.Comment

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
I’ve watched far, far more boring Arsenal football this year than this. I’m seeing forward runs which is an absolute delight compared to the norm this year.
In context (this season and 10/11 playing on Saturday), this is lovely stuff!Comment

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
Arsenal looked so good against Chelsea and I know Chelsea would obviously play into their hands with positive they were but is there a point we look at things and think Auba might be part of the problem? I think Lacazette was near perfect playing the lone striker role at the weekend.

The thing is, we’re one save away (that the keeper had no idea about, his knee happened to be in the right spot) from saying his forward runs are working well with the movement of the other front four.
It’s too early to consider he can’t fit in with these players (Martinelli, ESR), players who move, make runs, and and are looking for his runs.
Show me a striker with as little service as Auba this season and I’ll show you a struggling striker. He’s been poor because the team has been poor.Comment
