Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
A product of the entire team moving forward, moving and creating space for him to have a chance within.
The key is that he finished it.
Auba or Laca, it doesn’t matter who is in that spot, what matters is what happens around them and in the last two games that has changed.Comment

Big Sam gets embarrassed, but he doesn't care. That 1-1 draw against Liverpool is enough for him to believe he should have been contacted for the PSG job.Comment

An Adama Traore goal is long overdue. The commentator just said his last PL goal was 11 and a half months ago.Comment

Surely you’re just referring to the 2nd half? Cause I’ll give you that for sure.
But the first half—yikes. Sideways, side, back, back, side, side.
A much needed 3 points, to say the least.

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
Am I wrong to think that the most elite level athletes should be expected to be able to complete 90 minutes within 3 days of each other?
I mean these are athletes mostly in their young/mid 20s, playing at the absolute highest level in a (mostly) non contact sport.
To think they can’t complete two games in a week seems a bit weak to me.
This is likely an unpopular opinion LOL—but whatevs.

Yeah but him creating chaos out side while Liverpool’s forwards do their thing is a terrifying thought.
Still too much, though.Comment

I mean, physically it's just not really possible, efficiency wise. In an absolute vacuum, I'd say you're correct, but pracitcally, and in reality, it's just not very smart. Medical science has advanced to the point that we know how players recover, and how to maximize their peak fitness as well as do what we can to minimize injuries. If we know(which we basically do) that playing these matches this close together can increase the injury risk of people we've invested millions of dollars in, you have to determine if that risk is worth taking.
Basically it's not as simple as "they should be able to do this" as much as I think we'd all love it to be.Support Local Sports
