Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
Everton either had nothing left in the gas tank after their mid-week FA Cup match or they've been completely getting results with smoke and mirrors.
Never seem a relegation bound club dominate a match against a top 10 club like that.Comment

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
It’s not the expression, it’s giving the ball away consistently, jogging, etc. It’s way beyond the look on his face.
And it’s not the oh Ozil looks so lazy but actually is everywhere and doing so much. Willian isn’t doing a damn thing, and it’s maddening that Arteta throws him out there.
I used to get into it on Chelsea twitter about his work-rate. He feigns a good work-rate because he can run/accelerate really fast which gives the appearance that he's locked in BUT it's really because he ball watches which leads to him being out of position thus requiring him to sprint.
I always knew that when his athleticism started to fail he was going to drop off a cliff but I didn't expect it this quickly. He was pretty good for us during the restart.Comment

I have no love lost for Lindleof as someone I don’t even think is top league caliber, but man that was a cringe worthy decision. I don’t know why it feels like so early into the game makes it worse of a decision it it seems like it does lol. It’s not even like you needed to freeze frame that to see it was a foul. It was clear as day for like 3 different reasons. Climb the back, tug the shirt, and mugging? LolYankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Oh look Mason Mount starting again, how weird that this keeps happening even though Lampard is gone.Comment

To be fair, his *** was on the bench for Tuchel's first match, and there was an expected and hilarious "Ahhh! He hates youth!" outcry from some morons.Comment

Pretty much cruising for that entire game.
Feel bad for Newcastle fans.Comment

tbf, you can give city a lot of **** for a lot of things but they still have probably the best overall fan base of all the bigger clubs.
Even a lot of their newer fans seem to be well aware of how recently City was losing games in the championship.Comment

I love you too, but I think it’s a bit unfair to typecast an entire cohort of fans just because I as an individual am an impulsive, reactionary fan who looks to outside outlets for a feeling of achievement or validation as means to paper mache over my personal insecurities and failures.Last edited by BunnyHardaway; 02-17-2021, 07:06 PM.Comment

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
I will admit, compared to a United fans, city fans are better but only because Old Trafford is like a tourist trap rather than a place to watch football for the last 20 or so years where winning was (emphasis on was) a tradition and a birth right bringing every casual along for the ride. However, City fans IMO are arrogant tossers these days but for good reason I suppose. Better than Liverpool fans (sorry but it’s true considering how long between success) but gaining ground rapidly.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

I don’t mean you specifically. City fans on the whole that have popped up in recent years, even those based in England, have been pretty unbearable, specifically regarding Liverpool and creating a bigger rivalry than actually exists.

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
Yeah I was going to say (and I’m totally bias as I HATE everything Liverpool except Lebron’s involvement) that Liverpool winning last year was almost unbearable. But it was expected once it inevitable so at least I was mentally prepared lol.
Tbh, most footy fan bases suck. Even Chelsea’s can get unbearable at times

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
Most of the City/Liverpool rivalry has been driven by Liverpool fans, which is hilarious considering their favorite thing to do back in the 2000s was pretend the Chelsea/Liverpool rivalry didn't exist and we were just making stuff up.Comment
