Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
See I would read that as in Bielsa’s system is flawed more so than Mourinho playing defensive at home. ~30% possession and the same amount of shots.

The reason I want to see them stay up other than they're entertaining is I'd like to see how they do with some upgrades.Comment

^ I think they should make a few upgrades in the market.
Playing at that intensity all the time is going to eventually take its toll on them I reckon. Only 17 games played, they play full tilt from minute 1 to minute 90. By 30 games played they are going to be shattered.
Their bench was full of kids today, they aren't going to be able to rely on them when injuries and suspensions build up.Last edited by ~LiverpoolRed~; 01-02-2021, 09:36 AM.Comment

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
They could def use upgrades but the kind of upgrades they’d need to cover the gaping holes in their defensive setup would require someone with the legs and tackling of Kante while having the positioning discipline of a Fabinho. They’re not going to be able to attract high class players so they’re going to have to play the market perfectly.
Of course that’s if they wanna be a fringe contender for Top 7/8 but they could be content in just staying up.

I think they'll be content in staying up this year and next. They seem like they have a solid mindset in terms of long-term planning. I don't think they'll yo-yo.Comment

I still assme they'll blow past Derby's historic season, but they're currently not on pace to do so. At this stage for Derby, they would've had 3 more points than they finished with if they kept their pace after 16 matches, so not too far off. Sheffield United's current pace is...wow.
