He requested a transfer, and if I recall correctly, put in at least one **** performance, seemingly due to his unhappiness. Also, I believe Arsene was furious with him for requesting the transfer, as he felt he was looking for the easier way out instead of fighting for his place, so once he made the request Arsene was more than fine with losing him.

Edit: Wait, did he do something poorly and I missed the joke?

He’s actually the best finisher at the club.

Not saying that as a joke, he’s genuinely the most natural finisher at Chelsea.

Ox was actually one of the rare cases where Arsenal handled an expiring contract/transfer competently.

He had a great pass in the buildup to the 3rd goal.

Then he just stood there while the guy he should have tracked scored on the corner for West Ham.

Yep—he wanted out, and we got great value. I think some Arsenal supporters forget it was a £35m fee. It's not as if he was pried away from the club.

Sums up his career rather well so far.

Ox actually did very well for us until he had that knee injury. Very well. But he hasn't come back to that form, and I'm not sure he will. Keeps getting small injuries, and then finding it hard to get game time in between because he has no form. Which is too bad. Because before that knee injury he was one of my favorite players.

There was the inevitable gushing over Højberg by commentators, doing the usual schtick of mentioning how amazing it is they got him for £15m, but never mentioning he was entering the final year of his contract—always a detail left out when discussing the fee.

No one ever discusses why fees are what they are, Shaqiri and Robertson are always lauded as great transfer deals, but they were just release clauses that ended up being paid. It's still good business, but it's easy business.

Apparently Kane didn't hurt his ankles after all.

So one dimensional are Spurs. Jose needs to do something different.

Curtis Jones just turned 20 by the way. Plays like he’s 26.

Imagine subsidizing Bale's 600k (~300k) to basically be a glorified cup player. What a terrible move that was.

His form dipped for a little while but that's expected with 19/20 year olds. He's really impressed me. Physically ready, good with both feet, and unafraid.

He makes Keita expendable IMO. Maybe even Ox if you're able to hold onto Wjnaldum.
