How crucial will that Antonio miss off the post prove to be?

Did Antonio get a touch on it? I was watching on my phone and couldn’t really see.

I think West Ham dropping two points will have a bigger impact on their season than rescuing that one will have on ours.

I’m cool with anyone but City. United were a **** show yet again today. Will never go anywhere with the three stooges Maguire, Lindelof, and Fred in the lineup like that.

Leicester City will make it to the final and if they can pull of the win that would be a pretty great step for that side under Rodgers—especially if they can hang onto a top-four finish. That would be a hell of a season for them after the disappointment of last season.

Hell, just an FA Cup final + top-four would be a solid step for them.

                Obligatory Højberg shade incoming.

He makes a great pylon. Traoré just made him look an absolute fool, and it's nothing new for him. Since he was praised for running around and into people early this season he looks continuously gassed and well, like an expensive pylon.

Grealish really is the heart, brains, hair, and calves of Villa.

                  Nothing without him.

In a season of such craziness, how the hell are Spurs just 3 points out of 4th?

They've over performed and frankly have been very lucky with some of their finishing from Kane and Son.

Liverpool have under performed and should be above them, as have Brighton (seriously, give them a striker and they're above Spurs), Villa, and even Arsenal.

The table lies, a lot, and one of the ways it's currently lying is Spurs' position but even more so Brighton being as low as they are.

Spurs got carried most of the season by unsustainable finishing from Son/Kane. It dropped off now a bit but they are high enough they can sort of screw up a bunch and still have a shot at top 4.

Is it really unsustainable though? Kane and Son are proven scorers whose #’s only drop because their injury prone.

As annoying as Kane is, he’s still the best striker in the league who’s added crazy assists to his game now that his hamstrings are shot.

Well, I'd say it's unsustainable because of their injury history and Son especially is over-performing in terms of goals vs xG this year compared to last year. Like I said, the table does lie, and their position is one of the examples of it.

Yes, they have talented players and two lethal finishers, but I do not think they've played as well as their points total says they have.

The table doesn't lie. All that matters at the end of the day is what the scoreboard says. It may mislead, but it certainly doesn't "lie".

Sure, but if I only wanted to face that type of obtuse viewpoint and never distill anything down, I'd never post here for the discussion and would instead mindlessly watch retired pundits turned players mumble on about who wanted it more and who did and didn't do their job or I'd listen to Big Sam post-match interviews.

Reducing the discussion surrounding sporting outcomes to "[team] won, job done, moving on" is painfully simplistic and boring to me. For example, I'd rather watch long, extended highlights of one match than only see the goals from every match over a weekend.

So the table doesn't lie, you got me, but I find never looking past the standard table or further into why something happened and not just what happened very dull.
