I’m very surprised at how passive Leicester are being.

And what a ball and Jota can’t stop scoring. What a signing.

I have to say I’m surprised at Keita picking up an injury.

Keita playing well so that’s the signal for his old dry rubber band muscles to act up.

Jonny Evans almost did it again!

That little move by Jota just before to get the shot off was smooth as hell btw

This has been Firmino’s best performance since Arsenal in 18-19 I think. He’s been fantastic and he’s had some chances but that’s a well deserved goal.

I expected much more from Leicester. Their midfield was pathetic, and therefore Vardy was completely anonymous.

Jumping back a few weeks for reference: Leicester City were poor against Arsenal. The result and the way their goal came about made it seem like the perfect plan, but it was really the only thing they did that worked in the entire match. It wasn't that they didn't try anything else—it's just that none of it worked until Arsenal didn't press Tielmans (they had shut him down perfectly until then), and Mustafi made one of his classic errors.

Honestly not surprised a weakened or whatever Liverpool smacked them aside. Same as last year, Leicester are currently over performing in terms of their xPTS, xG, and xGA—they're not as good as they look (as of now). Their midfield seems to desperately miss Ndidi.

However, you should obviously never put yourself in a position to be sent off.
Yeah. It’s just maddening to me because I really dislike VAR for this sort of thing. If you are going to use VAR for this then you shouldn’t be able to cheat the integrity of the game unpunished. Either that or change the rules because this concept players have the right to embellish everything ruins a lot. These are grown adults with tempers being high from time to time. At best that was a yellow for contact and one for embellishment. Alioski should be embarrassed in my opinion. At no point was that contact worthy of falling down and rolling around for 30 seconds writhing in “pain.”

I know it's too much to ask, but it would be nice if these dudes felt any amount of shame for their embellishment. It ultimately has no downside though, so why wouldn't they keep doing it?

I do kind of feel like Alioski has been made the bad guy here more than Pepe. The reality is if he doesn’t go down and make a big deal of it then Pepe just gets away with it.

Even 10-15 years ago a headbutt is a red card, even a very minor one, even an ATTEMPTED one.

Remember when Alexis took a wild swing at Ivanovic’s head? He didn’t get any punishment because Ivanovic didn’t do anything. Same for Salah’s.

For me it goes back to the Neymar discussion; if referees were better and more consistent, embellishment wouldn’t be necessary. Until that time however, it’s nearly mandatory to actually get the right calls.
