No complaints from me. Salah got a pk a few weeks back for much less than that. I hope Milner's injury is not too bad. Running out of bodies.Comment

If this how it’s going to be, then the number players allowed to be registered need to be increased to around 35.
Klopp made his opinion know again after the match.

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
He’s not the only one saying that kind of stuff either. He’s just the first one to say the quiet part out loud. Many top managers have pointed out how absurd the schedule is getting for players while everything has already been condensed since things restarted. We are playing 3 international matches in a break during a pandemic? It’s certifiably insane.
The CL scheduling thing also gets ridiculous with the Tuesday/Wednesday switch when you’re playing them 3 straight weeks. There’s no good way to work that. They really should be playing all CL/EL matches on Wednesday for this season.Comment

To a BT interviewer. I wonder if he's as vocal to his club hierarchy who along with the other clubs are the way something will change at some point. The broadcasters are not entirely innocent, but managers (for years) complaining to the media about fixture congestion (or blaming the media for it) while the executives at their club reap the rewards is hilariously stupid.Comment

They aren’t complaining about fixture congestion. Everyone knows if you’re in the CL it’s going to be matches coming fast and often. It’s the fact that the broadcasters are allowed to pick the timing and force a team to play late on Wednesday and early on Saturday. And yes, I bet many of them are in the ears of the people who vote on it that this is ridiculous.
EDIT: Really the ones that should be pushing for change are the leagues. The next time the TV contracts come up with both the leagues and the CL, they need to get rid of the Tues/Wed switch and restrict kickoff times for teams that are involved in Europe. Their product is suffering and they should be recognizing and doing something about it.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 11-28-2020, 01:33 PM.Comment

Fixture congestion goes hand in hand with the scheduling—it’s all complaining about the same thing that has been complained about for years to me.
Clubs, the leagues, and the broadcasters are essentially all on the same page—as much money as possible while ignoring everything else.
My point is that it’s all ****ed, and that a manager roasting a journalist is pointless.
Managers complain to the media annually, pandemic or not, and nothing changes but everyone gets so excited when a manager has a go at a journalist (not just Klopp).Comment
