Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
It was, and it alone could’ve been a red—easily.
It’s just infuriating how often things are done, but then new players must come over and chirp reigniting everything because for years players have known that they can do more to get someone booked beyond the initial tackle. Cause a ruckus, maybe someone grabs your throat. Bitch at the referee? Maybe he’ll pull out his card.
But none of it matters because Xhaka is at the middle, and Xhaka actions as always are perplexing, inexcusable, and offensive to the idea of modern football.Comment

It's the first time that none of the traditional top 6 have not won in a match week for 12 years.Comment

At the least it should have been a penalty. Ball had already been kicked and Elneny does this
Then he rolls around when Tarkowski accidentally kicks him while he’s going down

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread
They refuse to, and its asinine to me. They literally will look at a "violent conduct" incident where the contact wasn't even strong enough to break wind, but they won't acknowledge a player attempting to cheat the integrity of the game.
I know i've said it before but start giving cards for this. Personally, I would give a red if it's deemed to be an incident that was either in the box or one with the intent of feigning something to get a player sent off. It would be a mess for probably a good month or so of a season but it would eventually end a large portion of embellishment.
You're going to get some people that say VAR was a good thing because of this pk reversal and there is merit to that. However the easier call was to call a PK and let VAR sort it out. They do it with offsides now but opposite. Dont make the call and if it turns into something, let VAR sort it out. If there was no VAR, i honestly do not believe they call that a PK today. I think they do so because it'll be easier to let VAR settle it. That would be fine to me, but only if they actually take action when a player tries to cheat the game like that.
To me, its still the number one biggest problem with the game. Cheating. That's all this is. Boggles my mind that they do not take this seriously at all but red card grown men in a heated game for making contact barely light enough to pop a pimple.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment
