It appears Blackburn are the front runners.

Absolutely correct. His comments at his debut press conference pretty much take care of the idea that he would have be a good 'veteran presence' as well. He was obviously frustrated with his lack of first-team time and with the wealth of young talent, saw the writing on the wall for the upcoming season...

Still sad on a personal level, as I'll always remember him with that red mohawk scoring and creating big goals. I believe he's still the only player to score in back to back FA Cup Finals...

It looks like Freddy is at the brink of taking his game abroad.

Assuming it gets done I think it's great that Real Salt Lake are all for letting him go and that he isn't going to a huge club. Benfica is a very big club but at the same time I think he will get on the pitch more than he would of at United or Chelsea. Not to mention he will be playing Champions League football if they can qualify.

Benfica have a third round qualifier to get into the CL this year.

Would have thought Castillo could've gone to a higher profile team the Shaktar. After his performances at the Copa America his stock rose quickly. Some of the bigger clubs in Europe were sniffing around apparently. He'll be forgotten about out there. Just like Elano.

Oh, and Rossi is leaving Manchester for Villareal. http://www.football365.com/story/0,1...634041,00.html
