Re: The Transfer Thread
Gabriel Heinze is also set to leave Old Trafford, with Newcastle being touted as a possible destination (would love to see it eventuate, but can't see it happening when Barca and Madrid are also keen).
Speaking of the Geordies, both Eurosport and Sky Sports reported that Sam Allardyce wants to sign "three or four good defenders" (not including the already signed David Rozehnal). The link suggests that potential targets are reportedly Italian international duo Fabio Cannavaro and Andrea Barzagli, but Allardyce ruled out any 'galactico' type signings.
Other deals i recall:
- Khalid Boulahrouz loaned out to Sevilla (and apparently PSV defender Alex will be playing for Chelsea this season, he was their property already and has been recalled from a loan spell...but i can't confirm that)
- Zdenek Grygera and Hasan Salihamidzic to Juventus; both pre-agreed earlier in the calender yearComment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I was wondering about this one myself. I was watching one of the Brazil games during the Copa America and the announcer mentioned Alex was on his way to Chelsea. I can't find any confirmation on this either. He's not the quickest central defender out there, but Chelsea will have a formidable aerial combo with Alex and Terry for FKs...Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I just wanna see "Rino/Kaka vs Poulsen (Round 2)" in the UEFA Super Cup and i'll be happy  even if it is only a friendly.
Serie A should be very fun to watch with Juve, Genoa and Napoli back where they belong and all clubs starting evenly.
And now Roma have signed Ludovic Giuly to make it even more exciting!Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
LOL, Last week Sky Sports reported that Freddie's agent said he would not move to another English club out of respect to Arsenal and the Gunners' supporters...now he's moving to a local rival
Anyhoo, Christian Vieri has signed a year long contract with Fiorentina...Matuzalem becomes Real Zaragoza's latest acquisition...and Steven Pienaar has signed with Everton.Comment
