How much did they pay for Berbatov? I think it was 10-12 million. There is no way that Bent is worth that much. If Berbatov is 10 mil then Bent should be 6 million.

Tottenham can't afford to spend money like Real or Milan. They can waste money on average plays. Tottenham could have spent that money on 2 defenders and a backup keeper.

No one is saying he's not good, he's just not 16 million good.

Arsenal is going to suck next year, so they should be able to make champions league.
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

Berbatov for 10 million was the steal of last season. He's probably worth twice that much now. I think Bent being only 23 added to his price too.

There has been a lot of speculation that Defoe will most likely be sold if Spurs does indeed get Bent (haha). Mido is also all but gone, possibly to Fulham.

I think Defoe will stay. Bent will take the place of Mido, and could pair pretty well with Defoe, while Keane and Berbatov stay 1-2. I don't want Defoe to leave, but I understand if he wants to go somewhere and be the #1 striker, but he should get plenty of playing time especially if Spurs make deep cup runs in all 3 competitions like they did last season.

Maybe, but they are paying the same for him that Barca paid for Henry. Hopefully he proves to be worth the money, but having to fight for playing time, I just don't see it...

Arsenal is going to be just fine. They played most of the season with thier young Gunners and held the line. I'd be surprised if they fell very far if at all this upcoming season.

That's how I feel as well, but there could be a lack of depth up front if any injuries hit Van Persie or Adebayor. They would have to turn to Walcott and Bendtner, who are young and talented, but extremely inexperienced. Other than that, most of the team should continue to improve as they gain experience.

My real fear is Wenger leaving after the season, as I've only heard that he will "honor the final year of his contract"...

I'm a big fan of Carlos Alberto. Bremen are getting a good one. Dude's only 22 and already has some trophies under his belt, including the Champions League in 2004 with Porto.

Germany continues to load up on the lesser hyped, yet highly talented Brazilians.

That pretty much seals it. Fernando Torres on his way to Liverpool in exchange for 32 million Euro + Luis Garcia. That's a steep price, yo.

Torres to Liverpool will be interesting....24.2 million is a lot of coin....and there are doubts as to whether he will succeed in the Prem...

Arsenal won't fall off - they're a talented team...van Persie, Fabregas, Toure, Gallas, Rosicky etc are all good players and if they can get another striker, they will be fine.

Arsenal play some beautiful football, they can pass the ball and control the tempo of the game as well as anyone. But many matches they just could not put the ball in the net, and obviously thats the goal (pun intended). I saw them outplay so many of the teams they faced and create chance after chance, but end up settling for a draw or loss even.

Most of the midfielders are not good shooters and the forwards score some nice goals but usually after blowing three or four good chances first. Arsenal ought to be worried. If Tottenham hadn't got off to a horrible start last season, Arsenal would only have the UEFA cup to look forward to.
