And Manchester United could finish out of the top 4 place once every 20 years and there still would be people acting like the sky is falling and United aren't "relevant" anymore, they don't know what they are doing, they waste money on anyone, etc. lol.

Re: The Transfer Thread
That's certainly not exclusive to United, any of the top teams will suffer from that. Liverpool have suffered from it so much, it's become their identity. If Chelsea/Man City/Arsenal fall out of the top 4, you can almost guarantee that will be said of their purchases too. Let's not pretend like that is United exclusive criticism.

Re: The Transfer Thread
LVG won't extend, he explicitly said so, and if you honestly think Bayern isn't one of the big 3 right now (and firmly ahead of United) then you are even more biased than I previously thought you were. Which was a LOT. Have you been watching CL long? Bayern have been a consistent contenders for a very long time (they have more CL titles than United does).
Anyway, I've no doubt you guys will get back near the top in some capacity, you have too much money to fail. But it looks to be a while before anybody cracks that top 3, and doing so while changing coaches and demolishing 25 years worth of culture is a pretty big ask.
And please don't talk to me about biases. The only time I ever defend United in these forums is when you guys -- mostly the Chelsea guys -- talk **** about United in the form of analysis. I guess I can't fault you for thinking that I'm biased since I'm basically the only vocal United fan on here.
Please frame it in terms of LvG transfer decisions. Are you referring to what, exactly? Martial? De Gea? Selling just about everyone left from Sir Alex's last squad? Otherwise your piece of banter is quite unfounded when you're presupposing I agree with everything LvG does.Last edited by Leon; 09-04-2015, 03:19 AM.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Can we get Moyes back, this forum was more fun when all the United "fans" disappeared.
(this is a joke, it's not meant seriously, though Leon will still probably take it seriously)
(I wanted to add one more parenthetical statement with no relevance to the topic)

Re: The Transfer Thread
Historically speaking United have been relevant for 20 years. They went 26 years without a title. If we're talking about the true historic greats we look at Madrid, Bayern, Liverpool and Milan. Maybe even Ajax. Barca, United, etc have only done anything worthy in europe in the last couple of decades.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Well it's the 3rd of January and no chatter in here, so let's get it kicked off
Arsenal are awaiting a work permit for Midfielder Mohamed Elneny, whom they've agreed a £7m fee for from Basel.
Liverpool are set to sign FM favourite Marko Grujic from Red Star for £5.1m.
Norwich in the surprise of the century have bid £10m for Italian International Andrea Ranocchia. A surprise but I guess silly money is coming to the Premier League.
Chelsea are apparently in for Alex Teixeira after months(years?) of speculation. It'll be interesting to see where he fits in the lineup.
Saido Mane of Soton and Lazio's Felipe Anderson are linked to £30m moves to Manchester United
Isco is apparently linked with Manchester City, Isco seems to be the casualty in the Real Madrid midfield mess.
Sam Byram, another FM Favourite, has been the subject of interest from a few PL clubs.Support Local Sports
