So, Everton really going to pay £50m for Sigurdsson. With everything that's going on, I really shouldn't be surprised—but I am.

Re: The Transfer Thread
Tbf KG, if PSG end up paying Neymar's release clause the way it's being reported, then Barca really isn't wrong to complain.
The way we did things was controversial and most people hate us for it, but we still did everything on the books and all purchases were made by Chelsea. Using a freaking government to buy players so you can keep purchases off your books is next level shady.
Either that shouldn't be allowed to happen or UEFA needs to abolish FFP entirely and start over.
If FFP was taken seriously (by Barca too) then I'd understand Barca's beef but it's been a joke filled with huge loopholes since the jump.
I respect the hell out of Barca and all of their accomplishments but their fan base and overall attitude rubs me the wrong way. I'm glad that even the biggest clubs can get poached (to a degree).
Also, maybe Hazard's ankle injury was a blessing in disguise for us. He's probably the only player that could step in and give them what they lost in Neymar (position for position swap).

Re: The Transfer Thread
Who says they won't go after Hazard now despite the injury? This is a club who once signed a guy that was suspended until late October.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I'd imagine Barca will go after Dembele.
He's young, aspires to play for them, and once he hits his stride would actually be better for their system going forward, since he is a different type of player.
Hazard would cost Barca more than they'd be willing to spend. I've said this before, but if you think Levy is a pain to deal with watch what happens when you go after one of Roman's personal favorite players.
Before this summer I doubt Chelsea would have considered anything below 200m for hazard, but with Barca having an extra 220m burning a hole in their pocket, we'd ask for something pretty outrageous.
After this Neymar deal, Barca are going to get taken to the cleaners for anyone they buy this summer.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Oh, I know Coutinho's going there at some point. I am just about 99% sure it won't be this summer.
Actually, maybe after this transfer I'll knock that down to like 85% and if it does happen it'll be for ALL the money.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
Not saying Hazard can't ever leave, I just think it's unlikely this summer. Also, if he leaves it will almost certainly be for RM, not Barca.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
In all seriousness I think Madrid has some aces up their sleeve. I really hope they fleece United into bringing Bale back to the PL, sign Mbappe with the money and upgrade Casameiro.
Hands off Hazard & KanteComment

Re: The Transfer Thread
RM could easily sign Mbappe without selling anyone, also Bale has already said previously that he is totally fine with rotation and his agent said several times this summer he doesn't want to leave.
RM is his dream move, I doubt he would want to leave just yet.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
I figured Coutinho would want to go to Barca to play alongside Neymar. I'm not sure if he'll end up there or not, but if Barca wants to pay Liverpool $120 million, I'm sure they can do some good with that money. Nonetheless, I hope he stays in the PL. I think Coutinho, Mane, etc. are going to be pretty fun to watch this season.
Any thoughts on Dybala going to Barca? I'm sure Messi wouldn't mind to have a fellow Argentine take Neymar's place. Of course, Juve probably doesn't want him gone either.
The pieces should start falling now though I imagine. Crazy.

Re: The Transfer Thread
Dembele makes more sense than Dybala imo, but Barca's board seems to be trying their best to screw things up at every turn these days.
The problem with Dybala is that he plays a similar style to Messi, and would be harder to work around in the system. Dembele is a more traditional forward/winger with an eye for goal, which is what they need. He's also very versatile and exceptionally two-footed, which means he'd be able to swap wings effortlessly, something Dybala can't do as well since he's not very good with his weak foot.
Also I'd say I disagree on Coutinho. Liverpool won't be able to replace Coutinho, even for 120m.Comment

Re: The Transfer Thread
La Liga has blocked the payment of Neymar's transfer fee because <strike>it is coming from his lawyers and not PSG</strike> reasons? This transfer saga has been something.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 08-03-2017, 10:37 AM.Comment
