As I pull up the street in my brand new Camaro, Alexis is already waiting. She looks focused, and is holding a basket.

"Hey Alex," I say as she gets in the car, "How was work?"

"Hectic, everyones a jerk at my office, how about yours?"

"well, you know my office is on the ice, the boys and I had a pretty good night tonight, we won our game 4-1, I got an Empty netter and the coach was finally happy with something I did" I answered, "but tell me. whats on your mind? you seemed really nervous walking up to the car tonight."

"umm, well the truth is, I have been having a real tough time getting my rent paid with my low-end job, and my landlord told me if i don't come up with the money by Friday I will be evicted."

"Alex, why didn't you tell me? you know you have a place to stay if anything goes wrong, and tell me how much money you need, ill write this guy a check for your rent." I replied soothingly

"I couldn't do that too you Jack, I just couldn't." she said.

"but your not doing anything to me, I volunteered it." I answered handing her the check, "write the price here".

she wrote it down, $600.

"what the hell is this guys problem?? threatening eviction over a measly $600 dollars? what an *******, tell him to take his apartment and stuff it, you can move in with me." I said rather hysterically.

"no, I couldn't, I..."

"yes you can I insist, and Barry definitely wont mind" I answered.

Before she could argue anymore I leaned over and kissed her deeply, it lasted about 3 minutes before she broke off and exclaimed:

"I forgot, I made you some hot soup for after your game!"

"awesome! I love soup, but I was enjoying what we were doing a lot better." I complained

"yes but the soup will get cold, and you don't want cold soup now do you? eat up" she said with a motherly tone and then started to laugh handing me a thermos of soup out of the basket.

She has the greatest laugh... I thought to myself while she gave me a spoon and I devoured the soup.

I was dead after that game. I couldn't move. We won in the shootout but no one was cheering, It was a very Physical game.

There was one person in the entire locker room who was moving fast. surprisingly it was Barry Tallackson. He was undressing very swiftly and then without showering left the arena! I was curious as to where he was going, but was too tired to care. so i just sat there for what felt like five minutes. turns out I was sitting there in my stall for a good 45 minutes. when i looked around, only about five guys had left. but i started to get into my routine of undressing and hopping into the arena showers.

A good hour later I traveled home to pick up Alexis to go and get the remainder of her things. this was Saturday night. last night I went personally to tell her landlord that she was leaving. I gave him his check and left, because my temper was really starting to get to me and I thought I was going to pummel that guy.

Anyways. When we got home, about half an hour later. I was absolutely stunned, the apartment was clean! No pizza boxes lying around from me and Barry, no video game controllers, no laundry. No mile-high dishes to clean.

I turned to Barry and he just smiled and said:

"don't look at me, I'm not the woman with the magic touch."

"Aww thanks Barry, It's really the least I could do for you to have to put up with me." Alexis answered cheerfully

"ha ha yeah, your such a pain" Barry retaliated

"HEY!" Alex replied in a child-like manner

"Now now girls your both pretty, now stop your bitching" I joked

Next thing you know were opening Champagne and talking about our rookie careers and Alexis is watching some chick-flick.

"hey Jack honey... Get me some popcorn pullllleeeeaaaasssee?"
Alexis asked with a puppy dog-like pout

"sure thing, but you didn't need to get all pouty, I would've done it anyways" I said

"thanks sweetie" she said.
