The Hawks, now losers of 3 of 4 games are back on UC ice to face the Blue Jackets after four days off. Expect the Hawks to come out with some jump, Corey Crawford back in the net.
RUMOR: Andrew Brunette is being shopped, he is a healthy scratch for the second straight night.
A new day and a better effort. The Hawks look fresh after their four days off but still can't find the scoring magic as Steve Mason has turned away all 8 shots the Hawks have fired at him. Pretty solid period up and down for the Hawks, one would think if they continue at this pace they should finally get the result they are looking for, we are scoreless heading to the second period.
So far so good. The Hawks have put together their most physical and all around solid 40 minutes of the season. The result is only a 1-0 lead, but at this point the Hawks are carrying the play and trending toward a victory. Viktor Stalberg created an offensive zone turnover, fed Hossa who made Mason look like Steve Passmore to make it 1-0. The Hawks are outshooting Columbus 19-12 and out hitting them 13-7 thur two periods of play.
Hard work for 60 minutes pays off for the Hawks. Leading 1-0 heading to the third period the Hawks only allowed 4 shots for the whole period. Defensively it was the best effort of the year for the Hawks. On the offensive side of things the Hawks excelled, outshooting the Blue Jackets 32 -16 and carrying the play for the entire game. This should put to rest some angst surrounding the club as two points always does.
NO PICS OR VIDS AGAIN. I WILL BE BACK WITH VIDS AND PICS FOR TOMORROW'S GAMES! PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK, HOPE YOU LIKE THE DYNASTY.
Don't like the Hawks much. I know there is link to the start of the season, but I still feels the blog is incomplete.
BUT now I'm getting familiar with the team and your posts look good. (still no hawks fan )

Thanks man, I started the other thread and wasn't sure if I was going to start a blog, then the more I did it the more I wanted to keep doing it so I apologize for no beginning. I might actually have the older one merged.
The Hawks will come out looking for revenge when these two Western powers meet, the last highly anticipated bout between these two wasn't much of a fight at all with the Kings skating to a 6-2 victory in LA.
Playoff Intensity in the Building, Hawks Win it in OT!
With the help of another soft goal, the Kings take a 1-0 lead into the dressing room. The Hawks had a brief man advantage but that was negated half way thru when they took a penalty of their own. The Kings know what they are doing against the Hawks and it shows on the shot chart. The Hawks were only able to fire 4 shots at Quick, but nothing he had to work too hard at. They are going to have to find a way to get bodies and pucks to the net if they want to improve their position in this game.
Well if you can't score from the front of the net you should try to score from behind it, and that's exactly what Jonathan Toews did on the power play late in the second period. The Hawks PP created some opportunities but the Kings do such a good job of keeping shots on the perimeter so the Hawks couldn't get anything to the net with any kind of traffic. Toews found the puck behind the net and somehow elevated it over the net and off the back of Quick and into the net. What a game so far, a definite playoff preview here, hard hitting, and not a lot of room out there, exciting third period is ahead as we are knotted at 1.
What more can we ask for? Another hard hitting, playoff like period that leaves the game tied at 1 heading for overtime. The Hawks have responded nicely to their recent skid by playing two solid defensive games, and hopefully walking away with two straight victories. Again, not a lot of room in the offensive zones, anytime a player had some time it was gone in a flash as he was taken off the puck by a hard clean hit. This one has been low scoring but it has been a gem. OT should lead to a few more offensive chances, hopefully Crawford is up for the test, he has been so far as he continues to rebound from some subpar efforts.
Duncan Keith, hero! After a hard fought 60+ minute game a Duncan Keith slap shot from the point goes off of Quick and into the net. A very soft goal for Quick to give up as it looked like he was able to track it right off the stick. A huge win for the Hawks in that they get two points, but they show that they can play with the other elite teams in the NHL.

Finally, the Central Division showdown that everyone has waited for. The Hawks and Wings have yet to meet so this one is well overdue. The two best teams in the league square off on a Friday Night in front of a packed UC. Look for both teams to bring their best.
** Question: Should I post pics and videos here in the thread as well as the Dynasty blog, or just in the dynasty blog. Not sure if it is slowing down load time.
Second game in a row against a high powered Western Conference team but a totally different type of game. The Kins gummed things up, the Wings play as wide open as the Hawks and it shows. Each team has had a handful of chances early in this one including a breakaway for Detroit from basically center ice in which Crawford denied. The Hawks took a penalty in the first minute and that led to the only goal for Detroit in the period, Johan Franzen was able to beat Crawford from the high slot thru a partial screen to give the Winds a 1-0 lead. Shortly after the Hawks answered, Nick Leddy, who has been improving game in and game out took a great chance to pinch in and keep a puck alive. He held onto it, cut to the slot a buried it past a startled Howard to tie it up, on to the second period we go.
Depending on how this one shakes out the Red Wings might have a legit complaint about the Hawks second goal which gave them a 2-1 advantage. Viktor Stalberg seemed to have a step on Kronwall when Kronwall leveled Stalberg sending him right into Howard knocking him down. The puck slid loose and Hossa picked it up and buried it into the open net, call was a good goal on the ice to give the Hawks the edge. Special teams continue to be a concern for the Hawks, well, at least the PK. Detroit struck for the second time on the PP tonight as Dan Cleary finished off a neat 2 on 1 to even the game up at 2. The second period was a little tighter defensively as the Hawks and Wings only combined for 15 total shots, giving the edge to the Wings for the game at 19-15 as we head to the third period.
Hawks game out with a purpose in the third and struck gold early as Jonathan Toews put them out front 3-2 with a goal less then a minute into the period. The fast paced hockey continued throughout the third period, with teams trading chances. Sure fire Hall of Famer Niklas Lidstrom found some open ice half way thru the third period and let go a dipping slap shot that made it thru all the bodies in front and past Crawford to tie it up. Less then two minutes later the Red Wings did what they do best, capatilize on a turnover. A bad giveaway by Kruger lead to Filppula alone in the slot and he made no mistake beating Crawford with a wicked wrister. The Hawks trailing by one didn't quit, Howard had to make several big saves down the stretch. The Hawks pulled their goalie with 40 seconds left which led to a big scramble in front with Marian Hossa getting a prime change on the doorstep but Howard was better, and the Wings hung on for the two points, really good game.
