Re: Once In A Lifetime | A Toronto Maple Leafs Dynasty
Leafs Sign Sauve To Two Year Pact
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that they have signed forward Maxime Sauve to a two year contract. The contract is believed to be worth approximately $570K and is a two way deal.
Sauve spent most of last season in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, and was recently released by the Bruins after being cut from their training camp. He is expected to bring some depth to the Maple Leafs' system, who have only eight centers in their organization at the moment.

After falling in OT to the Tampa Bay Lightning in their previous preseason game, the Maple Leafs were determined to get the best of the Ottawa Senators.
After trailing 2-0 nearing the halfway point of the second period, James Van Riemsdyk began what would turn out to be a scoring outburst with his second goal of the preseason, and Joffrey Lupul and Mason Raymond would go on to score twice more each as the Maple Leafs capped off a 7-2 victory in front of a large hometown crowd at the Air Canada Center.
Senators goalie Robin Lehner was pulled with just under four minute of play remaining after letting a Nazem Kadri goal past him, finishing with 35 saves on 42 shots.
Re: Hockey in Toronto | A Toronto Marlies and Maple Leafs Dynasty
I'm going to go with something a little different from what I usually use. I am going to be reporting the seasons for both the Marlies (the AHL affiliate) and the Maple Leafs, hoping to provide a more in-depth dynasty.

Red Wings Rally Back For Victory
Red Wings score four unanswered to pick up W
As both the Red Wings and Maple Leafs dwindle down to tough decisions that will determine who makes the opening night roster, the two original six teams squared off in a preseason affair.
Red Wings rookie Riley Sheahan scored his first goal of the preseason to open the scoring just past four minutes into the opening frame, sneaking a backhand rebound past a Tomas Jurco one-timer that deflected off the pad of Jonathan Bernier.
The Maple Leafs answered just four minutes later when Joffrey Lupul silenced the home town crowd with his fifth goal of the preseason. The Maple Leafs weren't done there when Dave Bolland popped the bottle of Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek with six minutes left in the period. The Maple Leafs would finish the period with a 2-1 lead.
Fast forward two periods and four goals later, and the Maple Leafs found themselves going back to the locker room with their heads down after another late collapse. Darren Helm scored once in the second period and once in the third period for a total of two goals, and Johan Franzen and Dan Cleary both added a goal as the Red Wings finished off with a 5-2 victory.

Maple Leafs Squeak Past Panthers, Closer To Making Cuts Van Riemsdyk notches game winner
Mason Raymond and James Van Riemsdyk both scored their third goal of the preseason as the Toronto Maple Leafs managed to just get by Tim Thomas and the Florida Panthers 4-3.
Thomas, making his second start of the preseason, stood on his head in an effort to keep his team in the game, stopping 36 shots but took the loss as his Florida teammates could not find an answer to solve Leafs net minder James Reimer.
