How do I go about putting the penalty values in both MM and CFM? Confused, cuz, you know...5/1

Re: Raider Ren's Madden 18 Sliders and Settings

Hey guys! It's been a while since I've had time to get Madden running, but was hoping to give your sliders a try. Just a few questions:

1) what's the idea behind turning defensive auto flip off? I don't want to be moving my players all over the place pre snap.

2) why the low XP slider values? Doesn't that reduce player overalls after a few seasons?

3) how necessary are the roster edits? I already have a CFM, and generally like to have the updated rosters to reflect recent player growth. I assume nobody has undertaken the edits with recent rosters?

Oh and bonus question! What's defensive playbook are you guys using?

Put IBB at 50 in MM and adjust to 51 in CFM. Put mask at 50 or 55 in MM and adjust to 53 in CFM.

Cool, glad replied. I assumed all of that, except I had MM FM @55. That woulda been rowdy.

Re: Raider Ren's Madden 18 Sliders and Settings

Finally starting my CFM haha took long enough. Hopefully I followed the OP right, the roster edits I did for both CPU and myself was just the ones under where it says inside CFM I didn't change anything else.

Probably gonna get killed on All-Madden, I wanted to have fun and I thought the Lions would be fun and interesting trying to build up into one of the best teams, custom coach, Matt Patricia is starting a year early haha I don't what to change the Defensive Scheme to, any ideas? Or no change?

About to play week one vs Cards. Post results after.

1) what's the idea behind turning defensive auto flip off? I don't want to be moving my players all over the place pre snap. I have been back on forth on this. At one point, it appeared as though while auto-flip will put guys in the proper matchups, they wouldn't necessarily be lined up properly, causing some issues. I'm not sure this is still the case, and that may largely be placebo. Feel free to turn it on. I'm not that concerned about it.

2) why the low XP slider values? Doesn't that reduce player overalls after a few seasons? I have liked the effect of XP between the 30-60% range, as high as 66%. I've been using TDawg's formula, at a reduced percentage. When based around 100%, there are too many players that advance to high OVR ratings. You get more of a balanced roster after a few seasons, with lower XP gains. There's also a profound impact between the XP sliders and gameplay.

3) how necessary are the roster edits? I already have a CFM, and generally like to have the updated rosters to reflect recent player growth. I assume nobody has undertaken the edits with recent rosters? The roster edits are essential for this set up. Removing High Motor, Clutch and Big Hitter, with the exception of the handful of elite players in the league works wonders in Madden. Madden is football on steroids. With the right tweaking and adjusting, we can morph the Arcade feel of the game to a true Simulation style of play. I'm not sure if anyone has done an edited roster with the most recent roster. You can simply edit your roster in CFM. If you don't want to make all of the detailed edits that are on the OP, just turn Clutch, High Motor and Big Hitter off. You'll be amazed.

Oh and bonus question! What's defensive playbook are you guys using? For HUM, I have been using a mix of the default playbooks since I call my own plays. For CPU, I used a generic book or Sabo's custom books. I've gotten to really like generic books for the CPU.

Great stuff man!! Thanks for sharing. From a statistical stand point, I love that you can put up over 400 yards of offense and still wind up in the teen's or 20's in terms of scoring. I also like the you still have the ability to put up points on the board.
