When you release someone and they have a release penalty, does that hit cap or salary money for me?

It hits your salary cap that year and the year after. That’s why you shouldn’t release someone that has signing bonus money left until there’s only one year left on their contract. Same with trading them away.

On the flip side if you can trade for someone on a rookie contract then you only have to pay their salary and the other team eats the bonus money, which is a lot high than salary for picks in the 1-3 rounds.

Thanks. What's your advice then if I have no or very little cap room left and I NEED to re sign a player, my 24 yr old superstar qb.

NVM. Got him resigned. A little worried about cap room for draft. I have like 800k lol.

If you’re in the off-season your salary cap room has your draft bonuses factored in. You have a section in the bottom right that says Rookie Reserve or something like that. That number goes up and down depending on how many picks you have. 1st round draft picks are pretty expensive against the cap, especially in the top 10.

Stupid patches. These were playing great for me with a few minor tweaks recommended by Flazko. Enter the latest patch, LeVeon Bell had over 200 rushing yards in both games I played included four TD runs over 50+ yards. There were gaping holes everywhere and DBs taking really poor angles especially in the middle of the field. Sigh...
