More like they can only do what they're allowed, and EA realized it's bad press when things they thought they could get done don't get done, but community engagers have already all but promised it.

Making games is hard. Especially when the suits have certain requirements you must maintain. It's a struggle for small developers, I can only imagine how tough it is for huge companies with board rooms filled with people who don't play games and are only interested in $$$.

Or even worse, when a football video game is controlled by people who play Call of Duty and Fortnite and know nothing about NFL football.
