What I've been dreaming for in franchise for years is the option to just hide all ratings, devs, abilities.

Just remove it all. Let the players make roster decisions based on stats and feel. Maybe give an option every offseason to get a training camp physical for a few players that gives you health info and updated physical traits.

A guy can dream.

I even think to just start with get rid of overalls. Take a page from Football manager. It just has ratings for each category but no overall.

Agree. Take it out of franchise and leave it for MUT cards and other modes

It'd be nice, and I'd love it too, but there's no way they would get rid of overalls. I mean, they have entire public events and announcements related to player overalls, and tons of discussion and engagement centered around them. They're certainly not ever doing away with that.

I don't think anyone in their right mind expects overall ratings to ever be done with. We just like to dream and know that if many aspects of the game, like overalls, were overhauled, then the game itself would benefit.

We all know it is Madden and EA we are dealing with, so any change we get is going to be small and it will be a weighted coin flip if said change is even good and works properly.

I think what we could realistically hope for is a fog of war commissioner tool like many other sports games have. It just needs to be an option for those that want it. The game will still have OVRs but if we can choose to hide that would be a total game changer.

Yeah, good point. There won’t be position battles in training camp or as the season goes on. And once training camp is over it’s back to the same weekly tasks.

I think training camp battles in the old games were really cool because you could directly compare stats from the preseason between the battles. And the CPU would utilize those to set up their roster.

I think a major flaw of preseason though is that some players get 0 time on the field. 3rd string qbs for example don't get any playing time. If you carry or the CPU carry more than 5 wide receivers they won't ever go in. On defense you'll routinely see starters playing with the backups because they'll get reordered to be backup specialist positions. Users can sub them out but the CPU can't.

One change I've been asking for years is regression take place during the training camp period. It's really weird how they shoved the training camp minigames during week one of preseason though rather than making it its own week. There should be a training camp/OTA period between the draft and preseason.

That’s the issue with the changes they’ve made to franchise 24. None of them have depth or realism.
