Finished and enjoyed the 4-part series. The last two weren't as good as the first two, but I took 2 things out of Episode 4.

After lowering their price to $20 for 2K5 it angered the NFL so much because of its lost revenues that this would be the catapult for exclusivity.

This team blew past the 4 quarter as they had to go into overtime to really deliver the final product. The initial release was terrible. Since those fixes this is, as I mentioned in the Madden Impressions, now the best football video game I've ever played. I still want more improvements because there is still much to do, so keep it up EA team!

Yes it irked me too because in reality twice when Madden had competition, Madden was beat down. First by GameDay and then by 2K. For 20 years now, no one can "come at" EA solely due to a monopoly and they know it.

Overall I enjoyed the documentary and was impressed by the first Madden dev team, especially how that one guy figured out the Sega Genesis in the nick of time.

I really enjoyed the documentary, from front to back.

Seeing the vision of Trip Hawkins colliding with the vision of John Madden
was special.

Seeing Ian and Phil was great as people who stepped into the lions den.

And Tril said it above, humanizing the developers and producers was something
that I pulled out of it all, but the dehumanizing and frustrating part was hearing developers
and producers lives and families were threatened over a video game.

The comment about Everyone can come at us- That was only in context to 2004 and 2005 Madden as far as sales goes. And then, the person that said that from EA said 06 didn't do as well as Sega was bought out by ESPN and brought better presentation with ESPN behind them.

Even the producer for 2k at the time admitted that the NFL didn't appreciate 2k for under selling 2k and that was the tipping point for EA getting the license.

This documentary was excellent but also infuriating.

The ease in which they discuss marketing ploys and things they skip purposefully is a bit frustrating. Most frustrating is the admission that competiton is what drives them and yet there hasn’t been any in now 20 years, just sucks

Did everyone notice the end of the last episode when working on 26 they were showing cheerleaders and mascots being scanned?

I've played Madden since the first on Genesis, so I know the truly terrible ones. This doc is a little emotional for me not only because I've played them so long but to see how far they've come. I'm tired of the bashing. If people are turned off to it, so be it. But in actuality, gameplay-wise, it's never been better. Ever. By a lot.
Exactly!! Spoken so eloquently lol!!!
