Just throwing this out there. Maybe the delay is due to EA and Madden team waiting to see if another company is creating a NFL Title. And they want to wait on marketing for the stretch run of competition. Just a thought.

Another out there thought could be that due to no NCAA Title this year Madden doesn't have to work around their information reveals so they could push back some dates. Also just a thought.

And lastly maybe they just did away with the cover vote ( which wouldn't hurt my feelings at all) and they are waiting for draft to even discuss Madden and it's features.

Count me among those hoping they're done with the cover vote thing. To me, in an indirect way, it would be a small signal that they're increasingly getting away from gimmicks, and hopefully would be a return to that little 3 year period in the mid-2000s when the cover athlete directly tied into that years gameplay improvements:

*Ray Lewis - "Fear the D" revamped defense, hit stick, defensive playmaker controls.
*Donovan McNabb - vision cone, and precision passing.
*Shaun Alexander - "Run to Daylight", lead blocker controls, new juke animations.

What I wouldn't give to see defensive back, maybe member of the Legion of Boom on the cover to hail revamped WR/DB interactions.

No news is good news, either they're working hard because they have potential competition or they are focused on delivering the best madden ever. I'd rather be surprised than fed empty promises.

Not doing that at all, I realize that marketing and developing are 2 completely separate things with 2 different resource pools, but the culture of EA dictates how all this inter-operates. Hopefully their new mantra is "Don't talk about it, be about it" instead of hype hype hype and under deliver. Like I said no news is good news when it comes to EA.
