Could all be some good points, but this year, the draft was later.

I bet this year the cover announcement will coincide with E3.

We've had a trailer this year, too.

GCers don't post here anymore and twitter has been quiet, it appears.

I'm sure the information and marketing will start from E3 and beyond.

Kind of reminds me of the days before the internet where you might have found out some information from Game Informer or other mags.

They are probably silent, just to avoid the early criticism from the hardcore fans who dissect every trailer and show its mistakes.

The "regular" consumer doesn't care if ball trajectory is off or there is double team blocking. And they don't really need to see early features or breakdowns of new blocking 6 months before the game comes out.

Its the hardcore people who really want to see all that stuff, but they are the ones who go onto twitter or forums and bash the game and its developers.

To be honest, I'm surprised it took this long to have EA stay hush hush.

I wouldn't call a (probably) cgi clip of one player a trailer

Honestly I have a lot of friends who are casual or regular consumers as you put it that also happen to be hardcore nfl fans and most of them refuse to play madden bc it's to "arcadey" "glitchy" or "fake"

We've haven't had any gameplay or sizzle trailers, nor have we seen a single screen shot of Madden 15.

And there's nothing from the GameChangers anywhere, not just here. All we have seen is 15 seconds of a player sitting then standing in a locker room.

I can't say for sure why EA Sports is withholding info, but I hope it means that we get more info at once since. Last year, we had a lot of info on features like CFM and game play. However, if they are still light on info even after E3 -- now that will be weird.

I am going to try and be as gentle as possible (and in the process not violate any TOS clauses). Most of the vocal fans of the non-Madden titles have been relegated to censoring their views or references to other football titles 'on here' over the last few years. It is either that or they are directed to the forum section titled 'Other Football Games'.

I feel like this was largely due to the former presence of EA Tiburon devs that were offended by some of the vitriol that was being directed at their franchise/work. I will be the first to admit that I was guilty for harboring some of that resentment as well. While it was misdirected and poorly stated in many cases it certainly held merit (at least in part).

That said, I will also admit that I have played countless hours of Madden over the last 25 years. Even when NFL 2K was an option I rolled with Madden. That has all changed as I have grown in age, maturity (perhaps only marginally) and in my taste in gaming.

Now, I just hope for great games with the innovation I have grown to expect. It just seems that game developers of all genres have come to a decision that innovation is a distant second-place to guaranteed sales numbers. In that regard - I have grown more and more jaded as a gamer and consumer.

I always have high hopes for Madden to amaze me and this year I am excited - albeit with a tremendous amount of skepticism.
