With the inside foot up, a slant on either side of the ball has your outside (plant) foot hitting the turf on your 3rd step regardless of which side of the ball you are on. Keeping a dominant foot forward turns a slant into a 2 or 4 step route on one side of the ball potentially throwing off timing between the receiver and the quarterback.

I imagine there are likely some advantages to release technique as well.
Now that makes sense. Thanks.

Not exactly-

If you looked looked closer at your player's ratings after a season if production was low & they didn't meet certain goals that previous season- their attributes in other categories were lowered which made the OVR # go down.

I had a really poor offensive season with the Chiefs in M25- I was playing with a rotation of a few bad rookie QBs that kept getting injured. Offensively I was ranked in the low 20's in the league. After that season every player on my offense took a hit in their attribute ratings. No matter what their age was.
All my O-line, every WR, Sherman at FB, & Jamaal even took a slight hit in certain categories, but his were minor compared to the rest of my offense.

By not meeting certain goals my 23 year old WRs took a hit in their catching attributes, etc. These attribute hits brought their OVR # down.

Production at the beginning of the season when no games have been played isn't going to make their overall # go down.

On another note- 4 categories don't make up an OVR.

Speed, Acc, AGI, & catching aren't the only things that matter for a WR.

If his AWR is low... you think he'll be looking for a quick pass?
If his route running is low... you think he will be able to run routes & makes cuts?
Jumping, catch in traffic, spectacular catch, etc. etc. I think you get the point.

I will also note that when my offensive production was low- I was still 9-7 & won the AFC West..... so it was my guess that not meeting specific player goals was made my offense's attributes decline.

Maybe it's a little of both. We experienced it in our online league and a few guys started tracking it. They never saw positional attributes drop in their younger players, but their OVRs were still lower from the previous season due to their production rating resetting.

I believe it's something to do with the techniques WRs are tough by Coaches.

At least that what I think its suppose to be, I could be completely wrong, since I'm a Defensive guy, usually Corner or Safety lol.
correct.....
