We haven't played the game yet so nobody knows.

I'm fairly certain that in the gameplay stream, as well as a few other vids I've seen, they say that if you're mainly a power move guy and you go for finesse you'll have a pretty high failure rate. Also it seems the prompts default to the stronger attribute. Now if a player is even in both, I guess you'd want to base which one you use on the matchup.

My theory is that it's probably pointless to have both.

I have a question, does the strength rating mean anything in madden on either side of the football?

For instance, we have power moves, pass and run blocking, trucking, etc, does strength factor in anywhere or is it just there for show?

It modifies several of the ratings you cited.

No single rating works by itself.

Power moves+strength determine the success rate of power moves. This is compared against the OL PBK+strength.
Strength factors into a lot of things, even a WR's chances of beating the press.

Also it works on its own in the trenches. In M25 I made the mistake of drafting a DT with 78 Strength because his other attributes were good. Well the lil feller got bullied on the line. Nearly every running play he was pushed back. It was equal parts frustrating and awesome to see.

Back to the topic in general, I wish they never took out the pass block strength and footwork ratings. Those added to the game and perfectly worked for what we are talking about.
Say you have a DE with 90 PMV and FMV. Well if the OL had 95 PBS but 81 PBF that meant that the DE would have a lot of success using finesse moves. It added a lot the matchups.
For those that do not know, footwork worked against finesse moves and strength worked against power moves.

This year it may be important. They said time in the pocket is going to be reduced, and a greater focus on the line play. It may not yet be where we want it, but at least they are moving in the right direction.

I highly doubt it. Mark my words, you'll probably be able to put a punter in at left tackle and no matter who the right end is, if the DE is AI controlled, I bet he still won't get to the QB.

My impression is that elite rushers already make a difference in Madden 25 right now. Not as much as they should, arguably, but far better than any Madden game previous where the left end always dominated.

Getting around the left tackle is actually possible on the PS4 / XBOX One versions of the game, in my experience.

This is something that has plagued Madden for years. Getting around the right tackle/tight end blocking on that side was no problem but the left tackle took exact timing and a whole lot of luck.
