IR question

I'm in Week 2 of an online CFM. My starting QB is out for 8 weeks. I went to put him on IR with designation to return but in the column that shows if he is allowed to return it says No. Anyway to fix this? Is it working incorrectly or am I misunderstanding this?

I don't believe they have incorporated the designation to return rule Into the game. So if you IR someone, they are done for the season, even if they heal, they may not return.

they did, then again maybe after 8 weeks it offers a return button? once per season.

Has anyone been able to use this feature? I don't want to put my QB on there if I can't get him back this year, but I don't want to carry dead weight for 8 weeks either.

Personally, I have a few guys on IR in my CFM and haven't gotten far enough along in the season to try to return any one of them yet.

That said, EA advertised the functionality to return a player from IR as present in their Connected Franchise Deep Dive:

There's a column on IR that says can return or spending like that. It says no now but I wonder if it changes when you hit a certain point. I just don't want to put him on there and find out I can never get him back this year
