Agreed. Which makes it even more perplexing that EA doesn't allow for this option.

Right!! And the fact that this it how it used to be before they started appealing to online gamers. At 43 I am not interested in building stadiums, free agents, hiring coaches, or moral. All I have time to do is play the games and because of the way that connected careers is set up, it takes me like 2 hours to start a season. I'm so sick of doing this. Just give us season mode like 2k and allow us real control, none of this computer signing players and restructuring the depth chart business. Some of us just want to mirror the rosters we see on Sundays. AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!!

I'm all for everyone having their own way of enjoying the game, but I really don't understand what the big deal is with just simulating the preseason if you don't want to play it, and then just play the season. You don't have to do the Game Prep stuff, don't have to scout, don't have to do any of it. If all you want to do is play the season.... then just play the season.

There are flaws with doing that, but being able to (and even quicker this year, addressing the time complaint above) is why I'd be surprised to see it added anytime soon.

I think the idea is that season mode also strips out the silly progression stuff along with training, scouting, and such. It's streamlines, so you can just play the next game without dealing with BS, or getting bogged down waiting for the game to sim to the next week.

i much prefer a single season.

Amen. I just play single seasons but the one thing I would really like is the ability to finish a season, not have my roster impacted in any way and be able to play a different schedule the next season.

This was something that you used to be able to do so long ago in Madden that I can't even remember if it was PS2 or PS1. :-(
