Re: Projecting Team Ratings.

I have interviewed with EA twice now. Once in August, 2011 and once this month. Some of the details are in the "Donny Moore Leaving EA" thread.

In 2011, I had a major disagreement with them on the philosophy about the ratings. They wanted final say to change anything I publish, specifically, suits in their marketing department.

The day Donny resigned, Rex Dickson contacted me directly and we had an interview a few days later. It was a preliminary discussion, but he said that he would get back to my by the end of August. Should I not hear from him by then, we will all know what EA is (or is not) willing to do with their ratings.

Either way, we all find out before the NFL season kicks off.

No...end of August - within the next month and a half.

OK because the season technically starts with training camp and most teams open up camp within 2 weeks.

I think the 49ers team rating will probably be an 83 at least
(80-84) solid offense and probably (83-85) still a good defense even with all the retirements

More like 79

They were absolutely decimated - easily the worst off-season in the history of the NFL no question and their division only got even better. Gonna be a really rough year for San Fran, even the Rams are on the up.

Re: Projecting Team Ratings.

I think the Eagles depends on how they rate the new additions.

The (85 overall) Eagles lost:
Jeremy Maclin 90
LeSean McCoy 90
Todd Herremans 77
Cary Williams 81
Bradley Fletcher 76
Nate Allen 79
Evan Mathis 97
Nick Foles 84
Trent Cole 84

And Replaced them with:
Byron Maxwell 83
Sam Bradford 83
DeMarco Murray 96
Ryan Matthews 85
Walter Thurmond 76
Kiko Alonso 88
Nelson Agholor Assuming 75
Eric Rowe Assuming 71

I think Eagles will get a small bump on defense, and I think Maxwell may be rated a tiny higher due to his contract value. They'll have an upgraded secondary, a top 3-4 linbackers groups, and a good DL.

On offense they'll fall of course losing Mathis and Maclin without replacing them with anyone proven. So they'll probably fall somewhere low 80s with Murray, Jason Peters and Jason Kelce being the only 90+ players.

I think Eagles Offense will be 83 overall.
I think Eagles Defense will be 82 overall.

I think they'll play well above their overall when it comes to actual attributes, however.
