What is your fav Madden ?

I still think madden 05 is the best overal experience we have had...upsetting really since two great football games were delivered that year. It is a shame nothing since has compared.

The Madden of the PS2 days were awesome.

However, I feel like as a huge franchise/ cfm fan, my favorite Madden was Madden 12 with Peyton Hillis on the cover.


That was when we cold still obviously import draft classes, and every year I would pick some dud of a team to tank the season with, and draft Andrew Luck or Robert Griffin, and try to rebuild them.

On top of that, it was the last Madden where we were allowed to edit player withing CFM/ Franchise, so we could fix things like ridiculous equipment, or fix ratings for players like Russell Wilson, Alfred Morris, or TY Hilton.

I really can't recall most of the features off of the top of my head, but I do know that was the last time I played Madden and felt like I couldn't put down the controller.

If Madden 12 had the graphics and physics upgrade to what Madden is today for the PS4, I would purchase that game in a heart beat over the current Madden 16.

I believe in that one you can play franchise mode with the old school teams/players.

I ran into 2 huge problems with M12

1. Gameplay - It was not that good. Robotic, bad tackling, lousy passing game. It can't even hold a candle to M25 PS3 and M15 gameplay on the PS4.

2. Sterile, lifeless presentation - Yes franchise mode gave us ultimate custom control. Yes that was huge. problem was I was controlling a lifeless, sterile franchise. At this point in the console cycle (PS3 back then) why am I not getting top of the line presentation and immersive features?

I really enjoyed M12....for about 6 months. then the game was so stale for me after those warts overcame any positive things in the way of customization, player traits, hot and cold streaks etc in franchise mode.


CFM on M25 really kicked up the immersion for me. First time since Madden 2007 (PS2) I felt attached and had a living breathing franchise. And the gameplay was far superior to M12. Pass trajectories, and some semblance of RTP.

For me that is really important.

I know there is a legion of M12 faithful. That's cool. It's not a bad game in the least bit. But Madden improved in a lot of ways for me that I was not upset at giving up some custom control, for better gameplay and a living breathing franchise.

Yes I want player editing ability in CFM and I want custom draft classes. Hopefully they answer that segment of the playing population. But if they don't I am still quite happy with the last two versions of the game and M16 looks like a winner.
