The more madden focuses on things like ultimate team (which is completely fictional) and want to add to the gameplay to make it more real for a fictional game mode lol it takes away from out customization and ability to do more within franchise mode

We're not going to see coins on a football field. Stop being ridiculous.

Seriously, the hyperbole for the sake of hyperbole stops now.

I think he actually makes some good points. The XP crap is annoying and I wish there was an option to turn it off completely. I don't want to be flooded with little pop ups on the screen after every play, it takes away from the immersion. Luckily you can turn a decent amount of the actual pop up stuff off- although not the stat ones. I don't want to see a little talk bubble protrude from a player after a big TD catch that says "61 yd TD" or w/e. It looks really dumb, distracts from seeing the celebrations etc. Really wish there was an option to shut it off.
I am having fun with the game, but an overriding issue here is there really should be options for all features to either enable or disable them. There's really just no good reason to not allow that.

Hilarious imagery.

Do not get me started on the xp system, progression should be done like in 2k or fifa...or better yet head coach.

Remember in head coach when players had career goals tied to progression, that made more sense to me. I have so many ideas for how players and progression should work, that i know would never be implemented.

Someone mentioned this earlier, but it's very good point regarding the stripping down of features and modes that were once in Madden. Wouldn't one assume it would just be easier from a development perspective to leave those things in?

I really think it's just all tied to steering players toward MUT. I really can't think of any other reason to take out features that are already in the game.

That's part of our problem. Madden (CFM) has become more of an RPG game where we want CFM to be more of a realistic team oriented sports game with significant customization options.

I respect your opinion. I just don't agree that MUT is the enemy. Look no further than NBA 2K. The franchise play is better than ever - but make no mistake about it - VC and it's pursuit are it's main focus. I don't want to trash that franchise in any way or divert the conversation - I just wanted to give a real world example that these things can co exist without it being a detriment to the other.

The problem is not MUT. It's the long range vision of the Franchise mode of the developers. Just say you don't agree with it or even that you hate it. That's fair.

But the more the community rages against MUT [a cash cow that is part of almost every sports game nowadays] it just comes off as a bitter sibling whose mad because he/she is not the only child anymore.

At first glance/thought, the XP system sounds good. It sounds like you can create a "story" with your players that you want. It sounds like it'd be great to upgrade the players how you want.

In reality, I'd rather just have realistic progression. I honestly thought I wanted the XP, but when I think about it my favorite sports games every didn't have this.
