Or at least have an animation for it. I don't know about anyone else, but I consistently get tackled on the one yard line. I try juking, trucking, diving, you name it... but if I get stuck in a tackle animation near the one, 95% of the time my ball carrier is going down on the one without a score. Sometimes the ball is mere inches from the line and it drives me nuts when I watch the replay and see a stick out animation or something would've been a TD.

Say what you want about the game but backbreaker had this. It was contextual where if you were getting contacted at the 1 or 2 yard line your player would automatically reach for the goal line, and what made it special was defenders could actually knock the ball away.

One thing that REALLY needs to be worked on is how the game is coded when the CPU has the ball. To give you a detailed example... I love long drives. If I go on an 80 yard drive that takes 15 plays and over 8 minutes off the clock, that, to me, is awesome.

However, the CPU is coded based on people who play 5 minute quarters. The CPU always hikes the ball between 23-29 seconds on the play clock, unless, of course, it's Peyton Manning. I've seen the CPU go on an 80 yard drive that took 10-12 plays, yet they do it in under 3 minutes, which drives me crazy.

They need to code the game based on quarter length. A lot of people play 5 minute quarters, I get it. But not all of us do. I play 15 minute quarters, and I always win the time of possession battle like 43 to 17 or 46 to 14. That is absolutely ridiculous and needs - desperately - to be fixed!

If I go on a drive that takes a bunch of plays and consumes over 8 minutes off the clock, I would love to see the CPU come out and go 80 yards in 16 plays and take 7 1/2 to 9 minutes off the clock. That is real life. That's what happens in football. And EA really needs to change the way they code this game, because right now it is so unrealistic.

Madden is so far behind "2K" when it comes to equipment/accessories

Isn't this solved by setting a decent clock runoff time? I set mine to 16seconds and it gives the CPU a chance to pause, fake hike or straight snap and gives realistic times of possession.

Like the NFL, I want full rosters and full roster control first and foremost. I want a practice squad. I want to run my team in franchise mode, like a real NFL franchise when it comes to the roster, the depth chart and roster decisions.


The other thing I really want, is a better trading system. Being limited to moving three items per team, per deal is a too limited. Open it up.


Mostly though, I want my team, from a roster and depth chart standpoint to resemble that of a real NFL team.
