It's a basic CB blitz, so if you come out in that spread set with no TE or HB to block the slot blitzer he's untouched. usually a drag route or something in the flat (a quick pass) is open vs those plays from Quarters.

You can see the open HB in that video you posted he's that he's uncovered, but those blitzes come in fast. I'd try some drag routes though, those are hard for DBs to cover when they are all matched up man 2 man.

If it's 3rd and long, you've already lost half the battle. We all get into that situation though, so I DO understand it does happen.

If it's 3rd and 15 or something though, sometimes you just gotta take your medicine and run a draw play and punt.

Definitely keep a back on that side, and Hot Route him to Pass Block. But a quick slant on either side should net you some yards.

If you know DB Strike 1 or Man blitz is coming, hot route your HB and/or 2nd TE (if you are playing in a 2 TE formation) to block. Once you have 6 guys blocking you should have enough time to find an open man on a man beater even if you send 3 WRs out. Corner route, especially with a man underneath (flood concept) should be a good concept and you should be able to hit the guy running the Corner route.

But realistically if you are facing a 3rd & long the defense has an advantage in that it knows it's a passing down and your opponent should be able to keep to keep you down to a punt or FG attempt.

How on earth do i set edge rushes ? And how do i crash my line ?
They switched the defensive settings because now a screen pops up
With slant inside and slant outside etc ..i need to know how to set edges and crash my line im getting smoked here !!

And why do the plays dissapear wenn im going through the formations or concepts ? They just appear as empty boxes

Could someone give advice on how I could best use formation subs with the pats?

Basically the system I want to set up (or as close to as possible) is Blount on running downs and Lewis on passing downs. Anything I can do other than putting Blount in strong I formations?
