The way it worked for me is once you have selected the 3rd player, go to the team you want to play as. Once you start the game, treat it like you are playing some one else and check to make sure your playbooks are correct, backout and select ready. Do this for both controllers and it should start. I also created a second profile for the 2nd controller so make sure you do that as well.

Omg I finally understand, I'm sorry. The game screen actually getting ready to play. Set. Back out. Go back in don't touch cpu. Play. Ok, now do we still have to retire coach, be a 3rd string qb etc?

Is this only for custom playbooks? Can't do generic? Which is fine either way. I just thought generic eould be easier to set up

for the like of me I can't get the 2nd controller to work so if I use the playbooks for my player controled team and then use generic playbooks like run n shoot, etc etc will the play call be better?

I don't need to go through all these hoops to make it work. You simply select a coach and activate the other controller. No need for a profile. Then when done with that game, retire coach (coach doesn't retire) and select another coach for the next game you want to play. I am able to play as both teams offense.

I'm tryna setup a custom playbook for my online cfm team. I use a regular stock packers pb to start from, i remove some formations and add few, do my audibles then save it. Everytime i go to my cfm and practice with it i have missing formations. Any advice? Is there a max amount of formations you can have in a pb before it glitches like this? Making a custom is so time consuming and i hate finally finishing it then a glitch occurs. PLZ HELP

AFAIK there are bugs with certain formations where plays don't carry over into games, esp. related to shotgun spread, pistol spread, and some others. Its a real shame as I the gun spread plays imho are the best in Madden, I just love the formation.
