Seems like Madden is as sim as ever this year.
This game is not a sim lmao. It's an arcade version of football. EA has stated in the past that they do not aim for a sim experience because that isn't what the majority of fans want in a football game.

Your opinion, but in my opinion, best Madden ever.

To each their own.
Sliders do not fix the fact that the defensive AI is programmed to run to a specific point and allow themselves to be blocked by the offense. The offense and defense do not flow independently of each other like they used to. An offensive lineman should not be able to come across an entire gap to block a defensive lineman without giving up some ground. Playside backers should not wait to be blocked but instead meet the blocker to clog up the running lane. Weakside backers should not run in a straight line to the football running into everyone in their path.

These are programming issues that haven't always been issues.

Imagine this game a 'true sim.' These boards would be lit up with threads about incompletions, wiffed blocks, nano blitzes, holding calls, blown plays etc.

Madden does a good job with balance though.

Imagine a football game where they could properly implement these realistic concepts they are trying to use without crazed fanboys yelling at people showing them how it's wrong. Lol we've become a "take it and like it" fan base for some reason.

Sim goes out the window the minute you bring xp into the equation. I don't think the passing game is broken though. flawed like it is every year but not broken.

Are there too many wide open drops of perfectly placed throws? Yes.

Are there too few throws that are just far enough off target that the receiver can't haul it in? Yes.

The net result is close to what it should be, but the way it is achieved needs to be adjusted.

If you find a slider that corrects issue #2, the net result becomes very negatively skewed tho.

You''re NEVER going to get what you are asking for simple because this is a video game man. These are not real human beings making moves on the fly. This is artificial intelligence being programmed to do certain things based on situation and circumstance. The people you see on the screen ARE NOT REALLLLLLL LOL! If you can grasp that bit of reality then you will be able to enjoy this game.
