Dude, I played in Korea. I didnt really have too many problems. If I did it seemed to be on the other end.

Re: Non-American player frustrations

I guess it depends on your definition of "poor internet connection".

We have fibre, Cable and all flavours of xDSL access in NZ. I have ADSL2, sync up about 20/1 (Down/Up). Heck I could have standard ADSL at 5 Meg and that would be more than enough for any online game, as long as it's local to Australasia. The thing that impacts any online player the most is the latency. How long it takes a packet from reaching the far end and back. The way it plays for me I suspect it's around 230ms at least.

EA doesn't need expensive servers here. All they need is a local server that would look at incoming requests from Australasian players and try to match them up in a game before failing back to other counties.

I remember when the game allowed you to go into game rooms, my connection would almost always be RED (1 out of 3 bars). I found that the best connection games I could find are against other players who are RED, which most likely means they are non-USA players and likely closer to me then we both are to the server.

Biggest thing anyone else who remembers me saying I would never play Madden again is...well....I'm playing Madden again. I've been a long time member but my visits have dropped significantly after 2k5 kind of ran it's course. Though I play a heck of a lot more of the text version of American Football, but at least I've come to enjoy playing this again.

Re: Non-American player frustrations

UK here, I have decent internet and whilst over the last few Maddens I have noticed a slight ping I thought that would be the same for all users regardless of location?

No offense to many users here (and not being too big headed :P ), but I probably know more about how football works than a lot of Madden players therefore the ping is less crippling when you're relying on scheme and game planning over stick skills.

There is a lack of support in organising online CFMs for different countries though. I get an invite now and again and its like "no I don't want to play games and draft at 1am"... wish they had an option for timezone on CFM finder.

You don't sound like a typical online player. I don't know how you put up with it. I gave up playing online years ago, because just about everyone I ever played didn't seem to know that they had a punter on their team and after failing a couple of times on 4th & long would normally quit.

A pity you are on Xbox because I run a ps4 league and have done since Madden 10 - and the way you say you play I think it would have been your sort of thing.

Of course, you could always get a ps4 and join. Most of our members are from the UK - and at the moment all are from Europe.

Connections vary - but it's normally to do with how good your internet connection is.[/quot

That's a pity we are on different systems....I play a handful of games online at the beginning of every new Madden then play career mode...

Probably just as well because as a Steelers fan we probably wouldn't get on:}.......On a side note moved from Scotland when I was 8 over 40 years ago......

Re: Non-American player frustrations

tbh I've found online much better this year - In my CFM there's players across three continents and in the last couple of Maddens it has been really challenging. This year the only problem have been kicks (which are practically impossible at times). The rest of the game plays fine.
