If it's deep enough for him, it really DOES equate to "deep" in his opinion lol that's how opinions work, and professional reviews are still opinions. Just opinions that reach more people.

I agree on the worthless part. But I say that about every review & critique. When reviews come in that match YOUR perception of the game, they will also be worthless.

It's also possible that outside of the OS bubble, the lack of franchise improvements isn't a game-killing situation.

Online play killed Franchise.

So it worked, Longshot was put in to take attention away from the lack of presentation, CFM, and animations, the suits knew reviewers would weigh Longshot very heavy in their reviews. Take Longshot and Frostbite lighting away from Madden 18 and you have want is basically Madden 17 with a patch.

You can say that about any game though. Take the campaign out of Battlefront 2 and you basically have a patch of Battlefront 1. Take franchise mode and 3d graphics from Madden 99 and you basically have a roster update for Madden 98.

I'm not sure why anybody cares about these things lol

Yes, if you take out the changes they made for Madden 18 it's basically Madden 17. That's...the most obvious observation in the world.

I spent roughly half my EA Access time playing games today. The commentary is definitely not the same. That is one of the greatest areas it has improved upon. It is a lot more fluid this year and I haven't noticed nearly as many of the run-on sentences that took 2-3 plays to go through. Also they added a ton of rookie names (CFM rookies) into the commentary.
