Or.....Rex, Clint and EA_Accessibility all talked about a Day 15 and a Day 30 patch.

Informed statements for the win.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Well, here we are at Day 39 since retail release, day 42 since special edition release, and day 46 since EA Access release, and... there's no 'Day 30' patch.

In the software industry, 'Day Zero' patches that are released 7 days after launch are not 'day zero' patches; 'day 30' patches that are released 45+ days after release are not 'day 30' patches. Day zero means day zero, day 30 means day 30.

Negative. When you're dealing with platform approval that time is not dictated by you but rather through the platform certification process. They have no say over how fast that certification process through Microsoft is done outside of a catastrophic failure fix.

No, the game is not close to being "broken." And it doesn't have a ton of freezing and crashing issues.

Some people don't like the way it plays, and that is fine. But it is not broken. People that throw around the word broken either don't have much experience or intentionally use sensationalist language for who knows why.

Day X patch is just their internal designation. Its part of their schedule. Day 30 patch means that on their end they should submit the patch for approval at a certain time, it does not mean available to the public on day 30.

What's your take on them actually using separate tuning for sim and competitive mode. We know that competitive mode will get some attention because of the high profile nature of all the touneys, but we've not really heard anything about them asking for suggestions for sim tuning post launch.

I haven't talked to the gameplay guys much lately so I don't have any direct info on this.

Re: So its the first week of October

I do find that this is the toughest Madden to balance for 32-man sim leagues since I started playing & measuring league stats in M15. The gameplay overall I think is a step forward from M17. But the gap between All Pro (way too easy regardless of sliders for most leagues) and All Madden (incredibly unforgiving pass rush slaying the passing game) is wider than ever before.

In M17 user v user games, All Pro with jacked up defensive sliders wasn't that much different than All Madden with nerfed defensive sliders. Gameplay was fairly similar.

In M18 it's night & day. Wish we could get some tuning for this to make an otherwise good game a bit more balanced for us 32-man leagues. :-/
