Re: Buying or Not Buying?

I only play with classic rosters, so unless someone creates a season from the 70's or early 80's I'm going to pass. There are some great rosters on both 17 and 18 to keep me satisfied. I keep holding out that one day we'll have the relocation features that are in NBA 2k. Unfortunately it seems that each year madden is moving farther away from that. Like Armor said... single player offline is not the target audience.

I'm on the fence. I'll wait a few weeks after release, and see how the community feedback is before deciding.

I'll be buying. its an exciting time of year for me every year around this time. the hype for the game, the slow reveal of info, then the game comes out and the huge wave of feedback comes flying in. I love being a part of all that. I feel like most of us share the hopes and aspirations for the game and theres something cool about unwrapping each years new Madden and diving into it together as a community. even if I don't have faith in the game (really hanging by a thread this year) - its a big tradition, and one that I really enjoy.

Buying as it is returning to PC.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have.

Re: Buying or Not Buying?

Not buying right now, if I buy, it will be during the black Friday sales. I feel by then, the majority of patches will have been released.
The time until them, plenty of public opinion about the game will be out.

I feel that not enough was done to Franchise mode to warrant trading in 18 if Best Buy runs their trade in deal this year.

I along with a lot of other offline Franchise players keep asking for a realistic mode, but our voices were told are heard, but nothing comes of it.

Madden 18 is playing well, I'm having fun as I've accepted the shot falls of it's Franchise mode.

Draft Presentation has been something I've asked for, but having my just drafted player come on stage in full uniform is not what I wanted.

No 46 man game day rosters, injury system needed overhauled, enhanced audio...….to add names of the new players drafted...….having a player known as my 6-3 QB the rest of his career......come on......say his name, especially since it's a created player by the Madden dev team.

Score updates from other games should've been inproved, with at least how NCAA did it, kicking it to Rece Davis and showing a pop-up and stats of the game.

Trade logic during the Draft needed work. No trades happening. Putting together a trade package difficult in .30 or less

On the enhanced Audio for Franchise mode, injuries are a key to the game, before, during and after. They need to be mentioned or discussed beyond the pop-up visual.
My last game played in my Franchise on Madden 18, my starter was out, my back-up was out going into the game. I was starting my late rd. rookie qb who had come in the previous game for my starter. That alone should have received a mention.
I brought up my practice squad QB to be the now back-up.
In the game I lose my rookie QB to a broken collarbone, in steps my QB I just called up to be the back-up, he plays well in a scaled back version of the offense. I lose because I had a punt blocked ret for a td, then I had a FG att blocked and return for a TD.

After the game, nothing is said about the injuries piling up at the QB position for my team.
Nothing said on the home screen page or news page as to injuries taking a toll at a key spot for my team. Nor was the two special teams mistakes that resulted in 14pts that played a huge role in the loss.

looking for Franchise mode depth in all phases of the game.

So much this.

I like milling around the forums and bull****ting with you guys about various topics/issues/problems concerning Madden. I enjoy the esctatic and discussions regarding each and everyone's Franchise experiences.

That said, I'm currently on the fence about purchase, but I'm sure some positive threads in this community will probably tip the scales into me grabbing it down the road.

Regarding what Armor and Sword stated about Not being their "Target Player" anymore:

As a fellow offline Franchise player, this is true and very discouraging to have to hear. I honestly never thought there would be a day that I'd consider dropping this product, but what you stated is a very tough pill to swallow.

Re: Buying or Not Buying?

Sadly, this will be the first time in 23 years I am not purchasing. First one was '96 for the SNES and I have been a day one purchaser every year since. I play madden, NHL, the show, NBA 2k and FIFA every year. I point this out to strengthen my next point that all I play on every sports game I purchase is franchise, dynasty, gm career, whatever you want to call it.

Unfortunately this is the first year I have finally excepted that even with the improvements in franchise finally (albeit small). EA just does not care about offline single player guys like me anymore. And that is okay. It is their company and that is their right. I just can't justify spending $65 bucks for a game I am going to be burnt out on in 4 weeks.

May pick up used down the line but def won't be a day one purchase for the first time in a long time
