Re: Madden NFL 19 Impressions (Pre-Release / EA Access / Origin Access)

Running game for Cpu is abysmal and it doesn’t seem like most people care but it’s just a killer for me.

It’s weird that I’m having such a different experience on pc than a lot of others seem to be having. I have a gtx 1080 and am playing everything ultra in 4K with vsync 4xmsaa and direct x 12 and it’s super smooth and I’m usually sensitive to frame rate issues. Y’all had me worried but the game looks great on my pc.

I gotta be honest and maybe I just need more play time but the game just doesn’t seem that different than last year but I will admit I’m not a madden expert. I don’t say that as a bad thing necessarily because I liked last years and even if it is mostly the same with less sacks, better coverage and other fine tuning I’m ok. The cpu run game not being fixed is a huge bummer though.

All in all I’m not super excited to be playing yet but to be honest football excitement in general hasn’t hit me. The fact I’m playing madden on PC again is the most exciting part so far and maybe that’s good enough this year.

Re: Madden NFL 19 Impressions (Pre-Release / EA Access / Origin Access)

I have some quick first impressions from a half of Bears vs Ravens.

- A big BUG for guys like me who play on defensive perspective using player lock. When you player lock the game sends you to a different camera angle all together which is NOT defensive perspective.

- The game looks and feels great on the Xbox One X on my sexy 4k TV. The physics look to be tightened up, most of the time. Experienced some really slick looking hits one involved Trubisky coughing it up as he was drilled.

- I experienced Kyle Fuller who was in man coverage attempt to peel off his assignment and jump a route underneath but the pass was wayward and incomplete. I don't remember seeing db's in man peel off like what i saw in that play. Hope i see more of it.

-RPM is a game changer no doubt about it. Left stick jukes felt dope and responsive.

- Pad levels still look to high imo. Maybe its the different player models but I think they need to streamline the shoulder pads better.

- I was fairly successful running the ball but i made a point to not use the speed burst, at all, until i was past the LB's. That being said when running the ball up the middle w/o turbo the RB postures are really upright. No bend or lean what so ever. It looks funny.

- I'm still disappointed that we cant play a "Play Now" game in cold weather without friggin' snow. How long has it been??? I've lost count but its got to be closing in on a decade. It cant be that hard to put that in for exhibition games. smh

- I had what looked like a "Curling" team TD celebration with Jordan Howard but the camera angle was so piss poor i really couldn't tell if it was

- The halftime show or lack there of was disappointing.

- I had a few contested receptions with defenders all over my back trying to knock the ball away that my WR actually held on to. This was nice to see on default all-pro. In the past they would all be incompletions no doubt.

EA definitely has to fix that player lock bug asap its not game breaking but its messing with the way I like to play defense.

Playing on Defense All Madden. I am absolutely in love with how aggressive the defense is! CPU is actually ATTACKING the line of scrimmage on run plays and getting tackles behind LPS.

Slider gurus are gonna have fun this year

Ive played only one game so far and that was the Eagles/Jags game when you're installing the trial.

Running the ball is a challenge but when you figure it out its ton of fun. I still have a habit of hit the turbo trigger right out the gate but you cant do that this year.

Passing the ball is also a challenge. Defense plays smarter. I had some contested catches but I had a nice lob pass to the endzone for td and the wr came down with it.

The game is a bit dark for me.

The camera panned out from the line of scrimmage , all the way out of Raymond James Stadium , and out to the middle of nowhere. LOL!!!! I've never seen this happen in all my years playing Madden.
