Re: Madden NFL 20 Impressions (EA Access / Launch, All Platforms)

In the manage roster change block shedding for pass rushers like Von Miller and Mack..I found that decreasing their block shedding helps with the sack issue...Von Miller block shedding was a 94 I decrease it to 74 and it was much better. .

He still got pressure and a sack and it didn't feel overpowered. ..

I hope it helps....

Also save your roster if you change that rating only...

Press man and I manually guard the most inside receiver. Typically those guys, especially TEs come open so quick if you can jam them and not get beat, pressure can get to the QB. Throw in some zone and blitz 40ish% of the time. But being able to guard the most inside guy on man to man makes pass defense a lot better. Playing with the Browns, having Myles Garrett helps a bit too.

Re: Madden NFL 20 Impressions (EA Access / Launch, All Platforms)

After my 20 hours I decided not to buy the game, however yesterday I bought another month of EA Access under my second user name on the PS4 Pro.

As I played more games the best way I can describe this game is frustrating. I say that because I'll play a game and it will be amazing , a true NFL battle , back and forth scoring , each team stopping the other , and then near the end of a nail biter the A.I. logic rears it's ugly head. I know I'm beating a dead horse here because I've said this before , but when you play what has been a great game for 3.5 quarters and then the CPU just lets time run out when they could have used time outs and probably won the game it leave you scratching your head.

Just played Chiefs (me) and Saints (CPU) All pro , sim , 8 minute quarter , no accel clock.

Slider adjustments:
CPU
QB accuracy 45
Run blocking 55
reaction time 55
pass coverage 55

User
Qb Accuracy 45
Pass blocking 55
fumbles 55
tackling 48

So here we are with 1:23 left in the game, I just kicked the go ahead field goal Chiefs lead 34-31 I kick off , now here's what kills me, Saints go into the hurry up which is great, they should. They are throwing passes and moving down field , again great , but they have 3 time outs and they don't use one until there is only 34 seconds left. Then all of the sudden, now in the red zone they start running the ball!!!!!! Why EA? WHY? They don't use any more time outs , game over I get what I feel like was a cheap win. It's like when I was 5 years old and my Dad would let me win at checkers.

This is so frustrating because the CPU just played a great game up until it's last possession. Why does the CPU logic go bonkers at the end of the game , and half I might add. I had one game where the Bronco's took a knee just before the end of the half when they were in FG range.

It's crazy , I love the game until this crap happens. Now this doesn't happen every game I play, It seems only close down to the wire games. If I have a big lead the CPU will use it's time outs even though there is not chance of a come back. It seems like some minor programming thing is messed up. I hope it can be fixed because I want this game , but I'm going to wait a couple months to see if this gets addressed.

I've seen other posts about this so I know I'm not the only one experiencing it. I've got 5 hours left , today after work I'm going to record my remaining couple games and see if it happens again , if so I'll submit it to EA.

Wow, and this isnt the first time I've heard this.

Luckily for me, I've only had a few close games so far, but the CPU hasnt done any of that. Just had a really good game against the Texans and they seemed to play everything how they should. Driving down the field, using timeouts, no unnecessary runs, etc

Thanks. I'll try some of that. I've recently switched my style to where I do guard the slot man typically. I'll try some of those other things as well

Yeah I’ve had a couple that have gone as they should, I’d say 2 out of 5 games the cpu logic has been nuts.

Just wanted to say thanks for continuing to bring this matter up. It's one thing to jump up and down, screaming that a feature you really wanted to have added wasn't. It's quite another to shine a light on a problem with the game that makes playing Franchise Mode vs. the CPU completely unrealistic, when faced with this particular game management situation.

Aside from off-man coverage DB problems, where defenders cut in the opposite direction of the WR's, along with some zone coverages playing too loose, clock management by the CPU is easily the biggest issue I have with the game. I am patiently waiting for a title update that will address both of these so I can start my franchise.

I respect that EA has said they are going to be more careful with patches this year, rather than trying to cater to every complaint they hear from the community. I understand this. However, when you clearly have something that isn't functioning properly in the game as it should, it needs to be treated as a high priority and remedied as soon as possible. CPU clock management clearly fits that category.

Re: Madden NFL 20 Impressions (EA Access / Launch, All Platforms)

I am enjoying the game with proper slider and roster editing adjustments so far, my biggest issue is the inaccurate passes are totally over the top, what I am saying is they are either ground balls or missing the WR by a crazy distance. I love that there are inaccurate passes in the game but if they can tune the distance that the pass is missed to the point I at least know the WR I was attempting to pass to that would be good. The over the top misses got these NFL QB's looking like pop warner kids.
