Even NCAA 14 had this.

That was something I took advantage of a lot in APF. For me, it wasn't just to perform coach actions. I wanted to see how my teams performed without me controlling it. It was a good way scout your own teams.

I’ve got a couple teams created. Might be time for a quick season. Haha

Madden needs to find a way to incorporate Fantasy Football. Whether that’s through Franchise (for example, Player mode could get more interesting if you’re trying to climb up fantasy boards), Presentation (if a player is having a prolific game, we could get a fantasy update from the commentator), even a non-gameplay Fantasy mode within the game (Maybe can be integrated with online franchises?).

I know there’s conceptual overlap with Fantasy Football and MUT, but Madden could do more to tap into what has quickly become (and is continuing to grow) a core aspect of the NFL.

Yeah. Definitely good using coach mode using created teams on the APF Editor. Especially when you create unique players and have trust in the AI to do well. I can always get a season in once in a while

Here's another random one. Similar to the way shoulder pad size is handled within the equipment edit interface, I'd like to see sock height become a slider. A lot of players have sock heights that don't exactly match the three pre-sets that have been in the game for years. For instance, I always felt like Kap's sock height fell right in the middle between "Standard" and "Long".

Re: What's an unconventional addition to the game you would like to see?

The career mode in WWF Smackdown on the original Playstation had a morale/energy system that I think would be awesome in Madden. In the intro screen before a match, both wrestlers would have a heart icon next to their name. The heart would be 25, 50, 75, or 100% filled in, and the level represented how the fighter would perfom in the match. Essentially, lower levels caused less effective moves, slower stamina regeneration, etc., and a higher level would have a positive effect on performance. This added an extra level of realism in terms of strategy and immersion due to the numerous combinations of circumstances that would be present in a match. Trying to win a title from a full-heart Undertaker while only having yours half-full was an almost impossible task; beating a jobber in the same scenario would be a bit easier to get through. Sometimes your player has the advantage, and certain matches turned out easier than expected. There were countless combinations that made every match feel different.

I think this would work well in Madden as a representaion of how team morale/energy can fluctuate throughout a season. There are several scenarios in an NFL season that could be represented with this system: west coast teams playing at noon in the east, dome teams playing outdoors, short week turnarounds, coming off of a bye, trap games, warm-weather teams in cold weather, etc. These are real-life effects that Madden doesn't account for currently that would certainly add to the realism and immersion.

This could be also tied into the head coach's development system. Most players won't want to be penalized or boosted everytime these scenarios come up; the head coach's ratings and perk could be designed to mitigate/eliminate these effects. Highly rated coaches may take less of a hit on certain things that a rookie HC would have to deal with. Maybe even have perks available that reduce or eliminate the pitfalls. Now there's added realism to the games, the seasons, and coach development.
