Re: Madden 21 Franchise Mode - Realistic Expectations for Improvements?

As someone setting up a 32 team CFM in Madden 20, just smalls things I was thinking of that could be added.

- Manual Injuries: The ability to add injuries to players would be good. This allows us to reflect real life injuries long after the season and account for player suspensions.

- Custom Schedules: On top of choosing preseason opponents, being able to create schedules that are more realistic compared to the generated schedules that aren't realistic.

More Franchise Setup BEFORE entering Franchise:

- Practice Squad: Allow us to set the practice squad in the roster section. This would save a lot of time within Franchise that would let players get to the games faster.

- Draft Picks: We know the issue, Steelers have Minkah Fitzpatrick AND their first round pick. If you're trying to be realistic, you have to do extra work like creating a new coach, taking over Tomlin, etc. Let us see the draft picks and trade them in the main menu.

Edit Contracts: Without option years, RFA, ERFA & Restructuring in Franchise you have to get creative like I have. I took the final roster update, updated as many contracts as I could to reflect RFA tenders, players who had options declined in the main menu. This was a long process as I had to lower overalls and release players so they had the appropriate contract. If I could edit contracts in the main menu then I wouldn't have to release players and mess with ratings. Again all about setting everything up BEFORE entering Franchise to save time.

Realistic M21 franchise improvements for EA (based off their previous history):

- Add maybe some new visors and cleats for equipment options
- Refix QB rushing stats (wasn't fully fixed last year...)

Maybe stupid question, but... what's not realistic in generated schedules?

Something else to consider is difficulty instead of dumbing down players on difficulty it should be based on play calling and the speed of the game not the actual players. Why have all those ratings if the difficulty handicaps players.

Insanely long home stands and road trips. No Week 17 divisional game after Year 1. No AFC playoff games at night.

A little too many SNF games after you win a Superbowl (or two)...

(Never realized the Week 17 thing but the second one you mentioned is definitely an issue / annoying.)

I can live with no divisional games in Week 17, but the long homestands and road trips need to be addressed. Three home games in a row should only happen once a year (if that), and three road games in a row should never happen.

Didn't that happen to the Packers a few years ago? I know they had a month stretch of no games played at home. One may have been an international game though. Speaking of international games, it would be nice if they got used once a season. A game in Mexico or London.
