What resolution does the XSX output at in performance mode? How often does it stick to 120 fps during actual gameplay?

Not sure of the resolution but I can confirm that during gameplay and replays it is locked at 120fps it has major dips to sometimes 35fps during camera pans of stadiums and splash screens but quickly bouces back to 120fps..VRR makes those dips non-existent to the naked eye

Re: Performance or Quality?

Man, I need a new TV. I mean I'm happy with mine, it's been great for gaming and movies up to this point. (X900F) But now it seems like these consoles are moving past most TV's max potential.

I really want 120fps with every game that offers it. I would love to play COD in 120fps.

My TV is native 120hz, but doesn't allow 120fps because it's not HDMI 2.1. And there is no VRR.

I just need to work on the wife a bit about getting a new TV. Definitely gonna go LG OLED.

Re: Performance or Quality?

After playing both, the jump to 120 fps isn’t as noticeable as the jump from 30 fps to 60 fps IMO. At least for me, it’s nothing to make me choose one version over the other.

Re: Performance or Quality?

Is the consensus performance mode? Even with a 60hz TV seems like it's the way to go so the game is constant 60fps.

I was trying to see if there were comparison screenshots between the two as I really don't see a graphical difference switching between them?

Re: Performance or Quality?

I got to try it on Series X during the early access period, but now have it on PS5.

Until this game, I had yet to notice the difference of 60fps to 120fps. So in Series X, I liked the performance mode.

So far on the PS5, I prefer graphics mode. I notice a little more sharpness in the lighting, and I like that. But it's such a minor difference to me, I think I'll keep flipping back and forth until something pops up as a difference to me.
